I just started learning html CSS and about to start Java, anyways I was wondering if anyone here makes money from either creating niche sites or buying pre existing sites.
Former: how long till income was worth the effort? Did you use a template? What are some marketing strategies you used?.
Or did you just build it and sell it?
If you bought a pre existing, how fast did you make your investment back? How much work a week did you put in?
Anyone want to toss in their .02?

what is this, 2004?

You can sell "premade beginner" sites on something like flippr for 100-150 which are just wordpress commerce sites loaded with junk from alibaba

Don't care if it is 2004, there should be money to be made in it now still, even more now. What exactly are you implying anyways?

I'm implying there is no money in this

Get up to scratch on Java.
Dont know about a lot of money but there is demand for good Java people.
Making sites is all about content and design. You install a CMS like wordpress or joomla, you get a free base system in six seconds, with plugin options that updates itself.
"building" a new cms is /g/ tier timesink autism, it's what cs dropouts do to pretend they're not going to shoot themselves in a few years.
If you are trying to learn java, you could learn JSP, and then make a web app built into your CMS, and then try to sell that. The problem of the site content delivery system has been fixed for 12-13 years, nobody will care no matter how supposedly great your new CMS might be. You want to make a web app. Or join an IRC and jerk off.
