Hey /biz/.

Question regarding creating a website.

I am creating a website that is a parody of sorts, of another website, yet with a totally different service. My question is--How closely can I make my logo/banner to the original site.

For example, could I just copy the logo of a site like carfax and change one letter? Or would I have to completely change everything everything up. What about color schemes?

You might be fine or you might not on both logo and colour scheme, it really depends if the site you're parodying wants to be a dick or not. You will probably be fine if you're not directly competing with them for sales.
