Hey /biz, just throwing out an idea tonight while at work, although I dont know if anyone here will be able to help as its only half financial, and half technical.
How would I go about adding a (legal) payout method to an Android app?
I know its possible because there's a shit ton of apps already on the market that do it, but googling it only gives me ads for those junky apps instead of how-to info.
Also as far as taxes go, say I payout $3 out of ever $5 I recieve, would I report $2 or $5 as income? Ive never done something like this before.
And no, its not a gambling app.

Figured biz would know the tax part at least

give an example of the apps that already do it.
i would say that your turnover is $5, but the costs would be $3. i am not sure how you would define the payout as a cost, i.e. i don't know the type of cost as it is a reverse-subscription or bonus payment or something.
income is money through the door. you're taxed on what is left after costs.

Most payout apps are shitty and revolve around ads or suveys, stuff like Adme. The kind of stuff that pops up when you google "apps to make money".
Mine, at its basic level, could be described as a digital marketplace but instead of connecting buyers to sellers, sellers can only sell to me directly, and the same for buyers so I have complete market control within the app's scope.
Thats a VERY vague explanation.
Ive never created anything that pays intead of only taking money.
