Sup /biz/ anyone have any experience starting concerts? How much minimum does it usually take to start and what all do you need?
>Hire Shit tons of staff
>Spend a shit ton on promotion
>beg for artists to come
>beg the city and spend shit tons to borrow land for the festival
>End up spending more than you raise
Whats the point OP? You lose either way unless you magically have all this money to throw away.

Im not really talking about something massive. Maybe just renting out a venue and letting some SoundCloud artists play. Something where some unnamed artists can get known and I would make some sort of profit

What typically happens around where i live is the owner tells artists to sell ticks. They charge them a flat rate fee for the venue and comission and the artists keeps the rest. The venue has a bar built in so the owners just make $$ off foods and drink

I see...I'm trying to start a crowdfund campaign for a local concert. At least $5 contributions for tickets. Think it'll work?
