How fuure proof is a finance degree?

Finance will do pretty good for the future depending on where you live. Most business job postings ask for Finance/Accounting Bachelors still.

over a long enough time period, no.

there are a couple advantages though:
1. you need a degree of some sort to advance in most industries, and a finance degree fulfils that requirement quite nicely.
2. Not every idiot can get a finance degree, so there is a limit to how flooded the market can get.

it may be a great choice right now. It may continue to be a great choice for years or decades to come. But ultimately your degree isn't going to automatically reward you with great jobs and high salaries. Something people figure out pretty quickly after graduation.
