Would it be a bad idea to buy some property to rent out, in addition to buying some property for yourself? Assume that you could get a decent 2 bedroom house for about 500k where you live, and the average amount of rent for a single room ranges from $400-$700 a month.

For my money, if I had 10 mil cash why bother with the headache of residential landlording. Dealing with tenants sucks. Yeah, you can farm it out but then your already thin margins get thinner.
