Thought's /biz/? How viable is starting a food blog if you keep at it?
I wanna post meme foods only like "salted caramel", and gluten free shit.
At 8 months they made sustainable income.
Thoughts?
You'll make enough to cover tendies once a week at best, go for it

Why don't you think it's viable.

Blogs are best as an income supplement/as a way to bring attention to yourself.
Basically, a really good blog that's read by a medium sized community will probably cover your web costs and maybe a luxury once in a while.

but a beginner blog costs like $5 a month with bluehost referral links...., they made over $22 their first month, and over 1k by their 8th month.
I feel like I'm being lowballed.
You're going to pay for food eitherway, so that doesn't count towards expenses.
The only real costs are web hosting fees and the initial costs of cameras + lens.
So like 500-750 + $5 a month?

Good fucking luck m8, you will have to become a god at SEO but it's possible.
I'm trying to start a shitty top 5 channel on youtube to earn me some money on the side.

Most people already have adequate cameras for a small food blog. Most phones nowadays can take photos in 4k. Combine this with a decent light source and a bit of photography knowledge and you're set.
Just buy an expensive DSLR (not a beginner piece of shit for $500) once you have the money and the need to improve your image quality.
