How much capital are you planning on putting towards this?
And what kind of experience do you have?

20-25k I've been trading stocks since I was 17. I just wanted to move into futures, options, and cryptocurrencies. Maybe all 3

The ETF route is much lower risk.
Futures are leveraged on their own, so while you can profit very quickly, you can also be buried just as fast.
Also, they're marked to market, so your losses or gains are realized at the end of every day.

perfect, ideally I'd like to close each day. Thanks for the advice
>>1421146
You're welcome.
But I worded that wrong.
ETF's aren't marked to market, they function like a fund or an equity. That means if they eat shit on the day, you don't technically lose any money unless you sell.
Futures don't work that way.

Right, sounds a lot safer that way. Smaller profit margins but much less risk.

>Smaller profit margins but much less risk.
That's the way it goes.
Good luck.

Instead of directly trading commodities why don't you trade companies relating to those commodities instead? It would be safer. If you think oil will go up then buy some shares of a smaller oil company (larger oil companies and larger companies in general have many variables that play into their share price so an increase in spot crude may not directly translate to an increase in share price). That's what I do, anyways.
