How do you fix a broken work-ethic? Any viable drugs out there I should attempt to obtain?
I've always had big-dick ideas and when I actually apply myself, I generate great results... but ultimately my accomplishments are far and few inbetween because I often don't have the drive beyond consuming simple entertainment.
Any advice/help/resources you can suggest would be most appreciated.

Check your hormone levels, low motivation is often correlated with low testosterone. check you bloods for deficiencies.. If nothing is wrong either try stimulants or quit being a lazy fuck

1. Break you routine.
>Get up earlier, go to bed later. Sleep at a friend's house for a few days, go on Holiday
2. Have a smaller idea, something you can achieve in one week.
>A mini challenge. Have a plan for a big-dick idea as you call it to line up afterwards. Once you ride the high of completing the smaller idea then you can finally get to work.
3. Brag to your friends about an idea:
>I often find the embarrassment of not following through forces me to complete things
4. Try drawing or visualizing your goals.
>I'm pretty sure most successful actors keep themselves going by imagining being up on the stage holding that Oscar, with their peers applauding them. It's not about the statue, it's simply an emblem that represents in their mind the adulation and satisfying of huge ego that they crave

If consuming simple entertainment makes you content, why do you need more?
Eliminate your desire for more, and you eliminate your suffering.

>Just eliminate your desires and be happy as you are
This is the thing that makes buddhism retarded bullshit. It sounds like the intro to idiocracy 2: world peace. If you eliminate your desire for more then nothing will change. In fact; if this shit ideology had dominated since the dawn of man we'd still be flinging our shit at each other hanging from trees.
OP can and wants to do more but simply doesn't know how. I can relate, my story is very similar.
All I can contribute besides what has already been said is focus. Focus on what you want and why you want it. Force yourself to act and think. If a distraction comes up then honestly ask yourself if it's better than achieving your goals.
Also big emphasis on breaking your habits. Change it up and use the opportunity to replace one habit with another, keep changing it until your routine resembles something useful.
You can still leave room for what you enjoy, it will just be in proportion to a productive lifestyle. Never go back.

I'd rather develop a top-tier work ethic than get rid of my desire for success...

Remove simple entertainment from your life. You will be so bored that applying yourself wont seem hard.
