How much should you make over your cost of living in order to make moving out a good decision?
Right now I make 2400 a month before taxes.
The way I figure it, after taxes, student loans, and rooms I've seen for 550ish with utilities included, food, etc.
I'd be left with less than 200 bucks unless something came up.
However my commute sucks balls right now, and If I move out, I could get back 2 and a half hours of my life everyday. If I can cut my commute down to 50 minutes each way.
This could leave me time to do freelance on the side, improving my portfolio, which should make it easier to get a better job. Also I'd pull in money on the side.
In my field I can expect to start making double within a year, but likely not until at least 5 months are over.
Right now my life is: up, commute 2 hours, work 9 hours, commutes 1 hr 40 mins, 2 hr 20 mins before bed. (shit, shave, fap, shower). The only up side is that I'm left with an extra 600 bucks a months to save.
So not really a life at all.
What do? Is the time I'd get back worth it? I really want the time to make my portfolio better so I can get a better job sooner and not worry about money as much.
Did the mods move my thread here just to fuck with me?
