Fellow /biz/ness men, how do we invest in climate change?
Let's discuss:
- Areas where real estate will appreciate significantly after sea levels rise
- Industries that will have a huge boom once the public goes into panic mode (after the first 'day after tomorrow' esque disaster)
Some thoughts:
- Coastal cities will either be wiped out, or require huge infrastructure changes
- Solar power will be pushed. Question is what timeframe to enter the solar sector?
- Narrative that cow farts are destroying the world is being pushed, possibly look to exit any positions that could be effected by declining beef sales in 5 years?

EZ
Estimate where rising sea levels will stop or at least slow their rising speeds, then build/renovate a line of hotels/apartments and market them as "beachfront" properties. By the time the water has risen enough, you will have a massive chain of properties and a total monopoly on all the coastal land. Assuming they are all owned and operated by the same company, expect returns of 500,000%.
Get a Canadian passport
They're better set for climate change than any other nation. Russia has Siberia, true, but it also hosts tons of drunks/fuckups/Russians.
Canada has tons of minerals, arable land, freshwater, and will be poised to exploit the melt in the northern ice caps (exploring new trade routes).
Then again, its defenses are shit compared to its cantankerous neighbor.
