I got kicked out of a 4 year school (have my AA), because I took a decent job in IT.
I got fired because of BS DUI...
I can get $25 an hour jobs easily in IT, but they tend to be 50 miles away, 2 hours in rush hour...
I would make more working at a local McDonalds per hour....
Should I move to a more cramped shithole in Silicon Valley, or go back to school for a 4 year degree in finance so I can sell loans for a car dealership?

How about checking area hotels to see if they have discounts for the company you would work for. Then, stay the 4 nights, return home on Friday. Most places have agreements that give steep discounts and you'd recoup the cost anyway if you're paid enough as you've said. Or negotiate it into your salary for the hotel stays so you can work without constant travel back and forth.
