I just finished up my BS in biology, minor in chemistry. About to send off my medical school applications, but my numbers are weak (3.0 GPA, 501 MCAT, etc).
I'm kind of punching myself because I left my grandpa's company (he's the CEO, dad is president) to go to school because everyone told me I was a smart special snowflake. Dad is pulling 100k+ for sure, grandpa is vacationing in eastern Europe waiting for his private airplane to be built. Am I throwing away the golden ticket to nepotism?
Ask your grandpa for advice you double dip
"Hey gramps what do you think I should do? Oh and also I'm thinking about applying for an internship in the company during spring break do you think that's a good idea?"
"Why yes grandchild what a smart idea indeed! You are a good lad so I will pull the strings and get you that internship no problemo! If you enjoy it you can work for the company full time of course, no pressure though feel free to finish up your studies first, as a rich and smart man I know that intellectual pursuit is worthy of time and effort"
Problem solved
Haven't used the site in quite a while. "Noko" used to redirect you to your own thread when posting. Anyways, I have no business, engineering or shop experience but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try shit out during my gap year.
