/biz/ have any experience dealing with the IRS? I didn't file a tax return for 2013. I did send them a check for roughly what I figured I would owe. I've gotten a letter from them asking for my return and showing that I have paid them some money. How do I go about filing a return from a couple of years ago?

ask the IRS

You didn't file a return, but sent a check in. That's pretty damn retarted. How the shit would they know what to do with your check?
Get a copy of the cancelled check. File a 2013 return through hr block or the like. Yes, you can still file a 2013, penalties will be imposed.
You are incapable of doing your own taxes based on the information provided.

Just send them twice as much this time.

This was probably the smartest thing you could have done. Don't listen to the idiots on this board.
The IRS doesn't care (so) much if it takes you forever to file, but they REALLY care about getting the money you owe them. As long as you sent the money in with an extension form (I assume you did), they will deduct it from what you owe, saving your ass from some (or all) interest and penalties.
