Is taking out loans and going to an out of state college for electrical engineering a bad decision? I live in Tennessee and want to have a degree from a university with a lot of industry connections.

That's a judgement that will be dependent on a lot more factors
Look at your estimated salary in your field and calculate how long it will take to pay your loan
Going into debt isn't always a bad decision
