a now defunct cryptocurrency called MediaCoin had an incredible idea: decentralized Youtube that pays coins for sharing bandwidth and storage.
Basically, host a quality video that people want to watch, and you get a cut. No censorship. No DMCA takedowns. No "Blocked In Your Country" BS.
MediaCoin died in 2014. But like early social networks, I think it was just too early to the idea. But the idea is valid as fuck. If one of you nerds makes a new platform like this, I'd invest like a son of a bitch. Censorship is way more sinister these days.

Captain Picard?

Interesting, but does it actually werk? Post more information and sites.
>P2P network for video streaming without latency issues.

That's actually a great idea, and I think a niche is opening up for a completely censorship free replacement for youtube/twitter, so as long as you could make it a streamlined experience for the end user, it seems like it could be huge. I would consider working on it but I'm already super busy

I think it's a good idea.
Why not monetize other interactions similarly?
Why not have a social media blockchain? Coins could be generated by sharing posts and posting posts could be used as a way to destroy coins.

big mining farms would pop up in china and third world places where copyright means nothing

a good example of subtle shilling. i read OP and thought "isn't that what LBRY is?", then we got there. a neat play you have going there. maybe this post is also shilling, just to add some authority to it all, to confirm that LBRY really is what you want. we have gone down the Shill-hole.

Its not possible to guard a system like this against sybil atracks (wiki that yourself), faking nodes and content is very cheap dor attackers.
Its a pipedream. But suckers will buy into it so nice pnd potential.

Siacoin basically does what op is talking about. The developers have proposed a coin proof-of-burn protocol that would make it really expensive for one person to pretend to be multiple people
Problem is LBrYcoin has huge tech flaws and poor few support. It's just a meme now.

The buffer could be filled by P2P.
