So I have my first full-time job and I have to choose how to invest my 401(k). Is this a bad time to start or should I wait for the inevitable bubble burst?

Actually every time the market drops ~50% is a significantly better time to buy than just prior. You're literally getting double the bang for your buck.
Buy when there's blood in the streets and so on.
it's a 401k. max out the match. i wouldn't give it much thought as long as they match your contributions. otherwise they can fuck off.

Don't invest everything at once. Just put in stuff in your folio every month and keep some save money. If crash happens buy in after the dip. If crash doesn't happen enjoy growths

Or you could short the market while it has momentum moving downwards, then buy low and sell high making even more money jackass.
