--FAQs for Robinhood--
Visit the website first - www.robinhood.com
If you're not into robinhood - http://www.stockbrokers.com/offers
> How is it free?
They invest your unsettled funds after a trade.
It's also pretty basic software.
> When is it coming to my country?
Probably never. They only have plans on an Australian beta ( https://robinhood.com/au/).
> It's been X days, why isn't my account isn't verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, try emailing their support. They are very good.
> Is this the right place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
No, please go to Stocktwits, Plebbit, or one of our many chat groups.
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want to go open a second account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using Yahoo/Google finance or even Stocktwits for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.
> If I have Robinhood do I need to worry about 'Free riding' violations?
No, its not applicable for limited margin accounts (instant), and if you don't have instant, RH won't let you buy with unsettled funds
> Can I use Robinhood on my PC?
Yes, download an android emulator. Setup is extremely easy. http://www.memuplay.com/

I wrote a program (unironically named "meme") that churns through all symbols under $1. It does all of the calculations, looks for low floats, compares volume weekly, etc.

I've been writing a primitive AI for scraping SEC filings that I'm going to include as a module for it after I test it out. So far, it's made me over 12k and I just started doing this about a month and a half ago.

I just pull it from an API. You can do the same thing. I just generally don't want to fuck around and do DD on the technicals (charts) when I can have something else comb and analyze the data for me.

Checkout MarkitOnDemand. Robinhood also has an API you can use. I created a dashboard for myself so I can just trade on my RH account without touching my phone. It's a lot faster pulling from the API than waiting for the phone to update too.

You get better by looking first inspecting something before you buy it. If you notice something is up any percentage, get skeptical. Literally refuse to buy it. Set a buy order at an incredibly low price and walk away. Don't even think about readjusting it.

Moral of the story, NEVER chase. EVER.

DPW
Keep in mind just a few months ago after PRGN jumped up 100%, it kept going until it was up over 8000%.
I didn't invest in it at all even though I found out about it when it was at only a 100% increase, because "don't buy the high" or whatever, and I missed my chance to have a couple hundred thousand in the bank right now.

So I tried to learn from that mistake but of fucking course it wouldn't work.

Asked about what he’d do differently with the Intel Security / McAfee business, McAfee says “If we acquired Intel (Security) completely, the first thing I would do is completely revamp Intel’s marketing and sales departments. I believe that a more modern, edgier approach is necessary. For example: Videos of myself snorting bath salts and surrounded by scantily clad women would do wonders for Intel’s existing image as a staid, conservative, out of touch company. I have even more radical ideas which I won’t mention here because I do not want to reveal too much publicly to a potential acquisition target.”

I let it go at .539 its climbing now maybe it'll hit .59 like it has before. Or walk away with 2 cent gains. I've been holding for a while so I let go.

Also I'll prob give up on skln. Bought at .16 and its hanging at .15 for weeks
>>
>>1369525
You've been saying that since a month now. Chart shows -4.59% since last month
>>
In on PTX at .465. Should I take my gains and sell by end of day, and buy back a dip next week? Seems like a sketchy hold.
>>
>>1369526
can it be bad? is that why they delayed it... and now are pushing it to AH on a short week?

>>

IDK I'm just a skeptic and prefer to walk away with a gain, even if it's $10. As long as I'm not wasting my day trades on it. I'd sure hate to miss out on $100 though. I just don't trust the company.

>>

what is a big floater wave? i'd like to ridde some.
>>
>>1369570
Stocks with big floats....... As in the amount of shares in the float...
For example compare GM with F, their float, their market cap, and the stock price.
Big floats aren't as volatile and its pretty easy to find the trends

Here's my stupid story of the day.

Be me a few months ago
Buy shares of TRVN way too high
Like over $9
Stock fucking crashes to $6
Buy more to average down
Average down to about $7.85
Decide one day to limit sell at $7 to get out.
Change my mind but forget to cancel limit order.
Weeks go by
Get excited because stock is climbing back.
I know it will hit $7.85 in the next few weeks.
Phone vibrates today.
See text
It's papa John's
See Robin hood notification
Sold all my shares at $7.
Stock is at $7.10 right now.
Fuck Papa John's
>>
>>1369704
wait up a bit, obviously buy, but the bears are out and about, so it might get cheaper in a little. Just buy at whatever price you can before the market closes, it's gonna get huge in AH since the proxy will be released AH

then why the fuck is everyone (presumably) selling now?

Shit stocks?? Dude, $GER made me some good money over the past 7 months!
Bought at average of $4.16 and I've had solid growth out of it since then (with a little bit of short-term volatility in the meantime to make it a more fun ride).

Reinforced the position by selling a few lots during some of the bigger spikes, and bought back in during the dips.

This "shit stock" has been nothing but solid, steady, consistent growth, adding up to a VERY LARGE return (more than doubled-up since wintertime)....and having that periodic booster in the form of a dividend added some sweetness to the position as well...

....so, i dont know why you'd call this awesome pick a shit-stock, but maybe you shoukd look into it before bashing it, since you're clearly not the expert on it which you're implying that you are...

Perhaps you should do some research in order to draw proper conclusions, as opposed to just flapping your mouth about regarding things which you don't understand, just because they happen to be too fringe for your closed-minded tastes...

you dick....

Buy either UPRO or DRIP depending on whether or not the S&P is going up or down for the day.

Look up stocks $20 and under which are undervalued on the RSI and whose MACD line is negative but with a decreasing divergence. Highly volatile stocks are ideal.

Then, during the day, buy whenever the price dips below the 50 day moving average. Don't buy all at once, but throughout the day when it hits lows.

Also use the 5-day chart's MACD on Yahoo finance to see when the stock is topping out (sell time) or when it's to bounce back up (buy)

When planning to sell/buy, look at the chart's previous history of highs and lows to see when you should begin to get in or get out.

Also, only hold for a couple days at most.

I'm planning on beginning to use my daytrades on UPRO or DRIP so that I can sell right before the market closes. I've been losing a little of my profit by selling the next day because premarket can make it very low.

I'm enjoying fairly constant gains now and it feels great.

It seems like a decent place to start would be sudden upward movements and unexpected changes in volume. If I decide to hook it up to a platform that allows daytrading, it might even be able to catch explosions before they can really happen, but I won't know until I simulate it when the market opens back up again next week.

Also, I use the 5-day chart for the 50 day moving average as well on Yahoo Finance. Thought I should add that.

Today I got my gains from AG, UPRO, and HZNP

AG will probably go down again like it always does, but it's a generally bullish stock. Look at the long term chart. Definitely something to just buy and sell on the reg.

also, last thing to add I think is make a list of stocks that are high right now but you think will go down and stocks that are currently going down so you can catch the rebound with the MACD shows a shrinking divergence.

and find out what kind of trading style you like. This guy >>1370187 is a penny stock trader (big gains, but also big losses), I'm a swing trader (moderate gains, moderate losses), and you could also just buy dividend stocks. I'd start off with swing trading.

I wouldn't recommend doing penny stock trading right off the bat. If you mess up,you lose lots of money. Also investopedia.com is a good resource. Neat videos explaining everything and good articles on concepts.

Last LAST thing.

with MACD, a divergence isn't 100% an indicator it's going up. When the distance between the two lines decreases, it can still suddenly increase again, but it's a good general indicator.

RSI isn't always at 70 for overvalued. Stocks can have their own 'overvalued' 'undervalued' ranges. Just use it as something to tell you when you should generally start moving in on a stock or moving out. Look at the range where the stock has dropped or gained. MACD is your precision tool to jump in on the stock in that "moving in" range at the right time.

browse the 3 and 6 month charts for these (not respectively, just look at at both ranges)

I'm understanding bits and pieces of what you're saying

>Buy either UPRO or DRIP depending on whether or not the S&P is going up or down for the day.
So if the S&P is gone up, you just invest in UPRO, but if it's going down you usually buy DRIP stocks

>Look up stocks $20 and under which are undervalued on the RSI and whose MACD line is negative but with a decreasing divergence. Highly volatile stocks are ideal.
so you're looking for stocks whose RSI is approaching 30, the MACD line should appear right below the stocks recent prices, but not only that, it should also be going downards.

That's about all I've got, as for getting out it's just a matter of nearing the previous high
>>
>>1370347

>so you're looking for stocks whose RSI is approaching 30

it's not always 30 and the 'overvalued' number isn't always 70. For some stocks, the undervalued and overvalued numbers may be different.

Look at the past and see where it hit bottom and where it hit high on the RSI. That will give you a general idea of when to get in and out of the stock.

ie.
A stock hits an RSI of 15 and tops out at 60

>the MACD line should appear right below the stocks recent prices, but not only that, it should also be going downards.

You have two lines - the MACD line and the Signal line. The distance between the two is a 'divergence.'

When the MACD is under the Signal, that means the stock is going down, but when you see the Signal over the MACD, it's going up. When this Divergence starts to decrease, you then buy in. While it may not guarantee it'll go up, it's still a good bet that it will.

If that divergence keeps decreasing, a crossover happens meaning the stock is rising hard.

watch the short vid:
http://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/macd.asp

Works vis versa for selling a stock.

Use the 3-6 month charts for these two indicators to see if a stock is worth looking into.

After that, use the 5-day chart's MACD (pic related) to help you find the high and low of the day. So instead of watching the 1 day chart while the market is open, have the 5 day chart open.

RSI isn't really important for the 5 day chart.

>That's about all I've got, as for getting out it's just a matter of nearing the previous high

yeah pretty much.

You combine the 3-6 month MACD and RSI with the stock's previous high and low stock prices to help give a more accurate buy/sell point.

You can't just use one indicator.

The red line among the stock prices is the MA. Try to buy under that as well. Don't buy all at once, try to spread out your buys throughout the day.
>>
>>1370378
No day trading.

You just buy and sell within a couple days.

You choose to sell when all the indicators point towards the stock falling

However, you can use my daytrades for things like UPRO or DRIP at the end of the day. UPRO goes up when the S&P500 goes up, and DRIP goes up when the S&P500 goes down, but they can be heavily altered the next day during premarket.

However, it still eats into your daytrade limit.
