you can get an edge in live poker. anything online is a waste of time. card counting doesn't give you an edge anymore in blackjack. I hope you didn't spend more than a few minutes researching roulette. watch phil ivey's 60 minutes interview on edge sorting. you can only gain an advantage like that if you're literally a millionaire.

The original Jack Vegas machines were +EV if one used perfect strategy. Most of them are nerfed since then and no longer give out the requisite sums for them to be +EV. I doubt any online gambling site has the originals. Why not simply play poker against other players?

OP I am with you in this pursuit because I fucking love to gamble. My girlfriend got me into gambing and I'd never been to a casino until about a year ago. Last weekend I went to a shitty no name casino and blew through 300 bucks on slots and blackjack. This weekend though, I won 527 dollars. The thrill is fucking unreal. I really don't think that there is any good long term strategy that will work out for you. I have done countless searches on how to cheat the system but found barely anything. My strategy on slots is to put some money in and play for a little and move on if nothing happens. I actually won the 500 bucks on a slot machine last night. I kept a little bit of cash and went after blackjack and got a little bit more. I think blackjack with basic strategy and counting is your best bet...Texas hold em may be a good option as well.

How to do this in my free time? I can program and make a half decent website (not going to make facebook or a coin exchange). SEO and all that involves tons of writing, which I'm not bad at, but it's draining. I'd really like to supplement my current income though. Would be nice to make twice as much.

the house ALWAYS wins. blackjack and roulette are both terrible. you cannot "figure these games out", they will always be losing propositions. people who talk about "hot streaks" or special "roulette strategies" are mentally ill.

the only casino game worth any consideration at all is poker, probably NLHE. there's no "poker tricks" that will magically turn you good overnight and playing poker for profit is nothing like hollywood poker with "le epic poker face showdowns". in truth it's just a numbers grind. you want to be playing tight-aggressive and making informed decisions. 1/2 live is very soft, anyone with a brain can turn a profit here if they dedicate some time into learning ABC poker. online poker is also an option if it's legal in your area but the field will be much tougher. the benefit is that you can put in much more volume allowing decreased varience and "work from home".

If you play live at low stakes cash games or tourneys you can easily make a steady profit. The people who play those are mostly garbage, lots of fish just playing for fun. Of course, you have to know what you are doing, but live poker is +EV for plenty of casual and career players. Anything else is a waste of time.
