Last Monday I sent out four jobs applications online and two through a job agency, and the woman who worked there sounded fairly confident about me getting both positions, and at least an interview.

This is my first time looking for full time work and I'm so nervous, i've been sat by my phone all day waiting for call.
Is it too early to be getting worried?
The only thing I've heard back is one job rejecting me, but it was just a "why not?" kind of application, payed way to much for me but I fit the description listed on the ad.

So what do? I'm considering calling the agency on Wednesday if there is still no reply to ask if there is any news.

Should note the rejection was from one of the online applications

2 weeks. The fact that you have no real idea let's me know this is a new thing for you, I work for Gotham pd. Anyways I'd say 2 weeks since I'd imagine hr people want to get groups of people at a time for orientation or whatever hr people pretend to do all day.

Anyone ever worked as hr? What do you even do exactly that can't be done in like 2 hours of work a day at best.

yes 2 weeks is a good time to wait before following up.
I've gotten a call a month after i applied once so it depends on the employer.

Agree, two weeks is good. Unless you have a connection within the company, you never really know what's going on. I have been involved in the hiring process at my company (a small consulting firm) and we sometimes leave people hanging for a week or two just because we get busy with other things or we're waiting to get enough good applicants before we start interviewing,
