How does one invest in oil for the long term? The USO ETF does not look appealing as the graph shows.

Invest in a blue chip stock that has mid-tier PE for its sector and a decent dividend.
Utilities are overbought currently so I'd advocate consumer staples or technology stocks.
Honestly, despite the immense negative sentiment.... APPL is a great long-term stock at current pricing.
Stay out of long term oil. Unless you are going for 50 years, it is stupid to invest in a speculators commodity.

I'm going for 10 years.
There's Vanguard Energy ETF (VDE) which holds oil and gas companies.
However, it's +12% over the last 10 years while crude oil is -57% over the same time period.

Buy UCO
Go big or go home.

Then why not UWTI for 3x instead of 2x?
Regardless... these oil ETFs are for short term bets. They are not designed to be held long term.

UWTI for 3X is where it's at.
Do you think it will break $100 a share in the near future?

This ETF doesn't seem to give dividends and looks to be more of a short-medium term investment.
Oil is a speculators commodity, and even great energy companies still follow oil's price more or less.
Maybe look at Exxon/refinery stocks. They do well when oil is low and people drive a lot. For the next couple years that'll be true.
This market is just hard to find bargains in. We are in an aging bullmarket. It's due for another correction. Most likely in August/September.

>How does one invest in oil for the long term?
you don't
the cartel is broken
Yellin even said so today
DWTI is your friend

dwti already hit like what 300? and it's below 100 now...
>>1288570
i think there's a decent chance it could hit if interest rates are moved off the rhetoric table after they don't hike up later this month
you'll also need to watch gold cause i speculate you'll see money from gold move into oil which will keep the dollar steady where it's at
maybe somewhere near the end of this year/early next year
ORIG or CHK if you believe oil is going back up

Lmao OPEC is alive.
Maybe not perfectly functioning though.
