Carpool sharing app, similar to uber but with the intention of bringing people from that community to downtown.

Good if people in the same community work in similar areas (like downtown). Driver would depart from meeting location at said time and would say where his destination is. Customers can carpool for whatever the driver charges (like 2-4$ for each customer, which is cheaper than public transportation and faster). Take 10% profit.

If driver gets 4 other people in car with him charging 2$ a day for a full work week, he gets $40 and you take $4 off that.

Great if you live in Canada, government would probably support your CO2 reduction with carsharing.

It doesn't matter if your app idea already exist or not. To make an app popular you have to make it good. 99% of all apps made are total bullshit when it is up to usability, UI design, etc.
Too complex, not beautiful, etc. people won't use or even download it.
If there are 50 weather apps, then the one with the best (first) impression is going to win. Also marketing is important. Thats it. There is still lots of potential out there.

Pic related. Pretty boring game, nothing special. But the graphics are impressive and thats why it sold incredible good. It got featured on plenty of blogs, websites, etc. because its unique graphics.

And no, you as a developer can't make a well designed app. You need a (very good) UI designer for that job who has many years of experience and knows exactly what people want these days.
