Anybody got advice on where I can keep my money besides banks? I don't care about interest I just want a safe, reliable, non-risky place to simply hold my money for me. Thanks a ton guys

How are banks not safe? Are you being serious? Whatever, you could try a small bank, community bank or something like paypal. You could just open a bank account and withdrawl all money.

Bail in.
Recessions happen every ~7 years. We're overdue for one. It's going to be a big one, since we never actually fixed the problems from the 2008 crisis.
New rules were put into place since 2008. Instead of the government bailing out banks... there will be a bail in. This means the bank is allowed to basically steal your money.
The government 'guarantees' they will pay back that money, up to $250k per person, but good luck with that.
