FAQs
> How is it free?
They invest your unsettled funds after a trade.
It's also pretty basic software.

> When is it coming to my country?
Probably never. They only have plans on an Australian beta ( https://robinhood.com/au/).

> It's been X days, why isn't my account isn't verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, try emailing their support. They are very good.

> Is this the right place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
No, please go to Stocktwits, Plebbit, or one of our many chat groups.

> What's a good penny stock to invest in?
Don't buy penny stocks you cum guzzling mouth breathing retard.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want to go open a second account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using Yahoo/Google finance or even Stocktwits for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

It was a meme stock, you should have gotten out when it was $4. It's going to continue to drop in the near future, then you can pick it up when it's below $1 and ride the moonshot when McAfee surfaces to announce their next move.

My general strategy is to sell when half of my position will cover my initial investment. I keep the other half as profit and sell when I need money. I suspect XGTI is going to have big things happen in the near future, so it may be worthwhile to hold long term.

They are. Keep in mind that people here are looking for get-rich-quick meme stocks, and the "learning" that >>1283415 is talking about are lessons in day-trading or short term holds, which you may not have any actual interest in.

If you want slow and steady gains, your current strategy will likely deliver. If you want to ride a roller coaster of net worth and emotions every week, stick around here and ride the memes.
>>
>>1283423
Appreciate it! While I do want a steady gain over time I also want to make some risks. If I start day trading should I buy more than what I'm doing now (10 stocks per)? Or should I up the ante? Also aside from picking memes is there something I should look out for when buying short term stocks? Seeing a lot of red gets me spooked

>>1283429
I don't think most people who trade think about it in terms of # of stocks, but more in terms of % of portfolio (i.e., a dollar amount).

Upping the ante ups the risk, but can also be a great way to get huge gains. A guy on reddit snapped up almost 60k shares of CPXX at 1.70, and the company is now trading around 30. He could have lost a lot if the company's drug results weren't as positive.

You should look out for articles and research that people have done, if you don't want to do your own. Sometimes news articles on big sites will spike up a price but those spikes usually don't sustain unless there is some real source of added value associated with the story.

Good luck!

Keep in mind that same guy did a TON of DD on CPXX. Bluechips will honestly not teach you much, I played them and had 5% profits over six months (usually you will get around 2-3%).

If you are using fake money, get into more profitable ventures, like the pharma boom, or commodity ETF's, or trading stocks that have formed channels. These will teach you infinitely more than holding SPY and coke. When you start really investing, then you can reassess your risk management skills.

Can you buy ETFs with robinhood? Really considering just using this as a savings account. The catch is even if youre above, once you sell whatever robinhood deems as a volatile stock you cant buy anything else for the rest of the day.

Not a bad strat. I think that RH's hidden strength is building your own indexes/funds. I'm gonna do exactly what you're planning to once I get more money. For now I'm gonna meme ride and stockpick. Yeah what is this all about? Ever experienced it? I thought you just can't buy things with the funds resulting from the sale of said volatile stock, but I also haven't really encountered the issue.

Seems like a major boner killer if your whole account goes on lockdown just because you sold a stock. Might convince me to stop splitting my funds between RH and Ustocktrade and move it all over to Ustocktrade.

I agree, Robinhood seems really shaky, you get what you pay for. Personally, if I was most kids here I would consider, do I want to pay 10 bucks and ensure I'd get quick execution and no risk of a failed trade and have no trade at all.

If you are casual and just want to buy DIS because of Civil War then do it for free is pretty cool but if you want to make a living on your trading don't do Robinhood. If you are somewhere in between then its up to you, etrade is nice and comfy but bloated as fuck and you can find most of stock info online now, if you don't find yourself losing trades then trading for free is smart.

>Archexin, Rexahn’s drug designed to deal a death blow to metastatic renal cell carcinoma, or kidney cancer, by disrupting genetic information that would otherwise cause disease. Last month, final data was shown from the first stage of a combined Phase Ib/IIa trial at the widely attended American Association for Cancer Research, the high point determination of best dose that proved safe, and importantly, effective.

>Rexahn’s work with RX-3117 is notable because the drug has shown anti-tumor effects in vitro over human cancer cell lines and in vivo efficacy in mouse models. In-vitro, or test-tube data, may or may not translate to mammals, either mice or humans. In Rexahn’s case, it did; that’s why the drug graduated to humans. RX-3117 further distinguishes itself with efficacy in pancreatic and bladder cancer patients who have failed gemcitabine, branded Gemzar by Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY) before going generic, and a much-used therapy that, unfortunately, builds resistance in up to 40% of users. Therefore, RX-3117’s value rests heavily in those with advanced stages of disease where gemcitabine doesn’t work.

>Rexahn moves efficiently and effectively toward very large medical markets: renal cell carcinoma costs $5 billion per year in the US; pancreatic another $8,000 to $200,000 per month per patient, or $3 billion at the low end; and bladder cancer weighs in at $5 billion total cost. It’s clear Rexahn chose its disease indications wisely, preparing to return to investors a generous reward for risking funds in a small, pre-revenue stock.

So why did the stock only move up five cents after this information was presented on the 19th?

New to stocks here

Is Robin Hood any good?

Are there any "hidden fees" along the way?

Would a person starting off with low capital be better off with a service like scottrade or something?
>>
>>1286543
no fees, robinhood is designed for people in your position, low capital, want to try the market, etc.
>>
I'm not using robinhood but I'm new to stocks and consider it a basic way of putting my money in something rather than squandering on random shit. I can always get it back with some profit or some loss but I can control it relatively easy and can withdraw my money anytime I want. I do it for fun, basically. I don't even consider it a source of income, just something to kill time.

Anyway, if I have a thousand I want to put in stocks, is it better to put it in very expensive stock of one company or a lot of stock of many different companies?
>>
>>1286587

Provided my main goal is simply keeping my money, of course. Profit is less important.

DNAI -56%
ADMP - 43%
OCUL - 40%
MRTX - 28%

Out of these I like ADMP because that is imo a far too strong reaction to what is about 1 year delay of tests, its not saying the drug sucks its just not tested well enough. I think it'll end up down -30%.

>>1287846
I think it's gonna dip hard by 10, back to 3.90 or 3.80 by 11. I'm gonna sell on open for sure then buy back in unless I decide to go over to $CLF. I keep watching it and wishing I got in yesterday..
>>
>>1287856
Follow me! Sell at open, buy back in when it dips. Worst case scenario it doesn't dip and you missed some potential gains but at least you secured some realized gains off the stock. Best case scenario you sell around 4.15 this morning, buy it at 3.85 around 1030 then watch it climb back up to 4.10 for double gains
>>
>>1287868
Yep I did just that. Sold at open watching for a dip. Good call
>>
>>1287871
Yeah look at it drop! How low can ya go!? I wouldn't touch it for about an hour now

i-itl go back to 10 any day now right???
>>
So what's the buy in point for ARRY
>>
>>1287885
3.69 if it doesn't hit that by 10:50, buy back in in low 3.7s
>>
>>1287883
Holy shit you're still holding ttnp. Godspeed
>>
>>1287890
Do you have any idea how long you are going to hold it after you buy? Thinking of jumping on the train
>>
>>1287899
They release new trial results when? Wednesday? They'll be the day when it'll rocket right?
>>
>>1287868
Newfag here
I bought at 3.90 Fri
Do i wait till 10:30 to sell?
>>
>>1287899
I don't really hold stocks long except I'll probably hold at least part of my position on CLF all summer as long as it's green. ARRY is very volatile right now. Just watch the swings, monitor daily lows and highs, if you read into the company and have faith in their future, find a cozy buy in and sit on it, it definitely has potential. I'm not waiting for moon missions though, I'd rather make 5% a day then hang on to stocks that might crash.

>>1287890
If I was wrong about the dip and it keeps going up just wait til you find a low 3.8 buy in today or tomorrow

>>1287904
Pretty sure troll. Buy low, sell high
>>
is xgti still good?
>>
>>1287908
Sorry legit newfag
I just started learning and hoping to understand what I'm doing right/wrong.
If I bought at 3.90 and at 10:30 are should hit 4-4.10 I should sell for (small) profit, right? Or do I hold?
>>
>>1287913
You bought in pretty high for this stock but things are staying green. Go to sell>order type> Stop Loss and type 3.95 as price for all your shares. Let it climb, occasionally make a new stop loss to trail the price as it goes up. This will automatically sell your stock if it dips down to your stop loss price. This will make sure you don't lose money on the stock. If it drops real low and you autosell, make sure there was no bad news and buy back in. The price you bought in at was pretty high but I think your ok
>>
>>1287917
And remember this is just my perspective as a day trader. If your more ahort-long term investing and you bought the stock cuz you think it's undervalued and want to sit on it for a few months, then ignore me
>>
>>1287920
Aren't you limited to only 4 day trades in 5 business days before you get a 90 day ban? Also if possible could you answer this, thanks >>1287786
>>
>>1287927
Taxes on this stuff is easy. Don't sweat it. Selling on open then buying the stock again the same day does not count as a day trade.

>If you buy 50 shares and then sell any
amount of shares the same day it is a day trade.
>buy 100 Shares, sell 50 and then sell 50 on same day that is one daytrade
>buy 50 shares, buy 50 more, then sell 100 shares on same day, that's is 2 day trades
>buy 50 shares, buy 50 more then sell 51 shares same day, that is two day trades.

Good will help you get a sense of what you can and cannot do. But selling at open and then buying the stock again same day won't hurt you as I understand it

This is where I get cucked by robinhood. Then I hafta deposit more money so I can keep trading
>>
>>1287927
Really a 90 day ban?
>>
>>1287927
>>1287938
The 90 day ban happens if you get classified as a pattern daytrader. Robinhood prevents you from making the 4th trade so you don't actually get the ban, instead it doesn't allow you to make the trade. So hopefully that 4th day trade isn't a stop loss on a plummeting stock, cuz youll be stock holding onto the stock for another day
>>
>>1287935
GUYS I THINK I FOUND A GLITCH IN THE MATRIX. Made a small deposit (I've got instant) and robinhood let me reinvest everything

DON'T DO THIS. As someone who's been Finra audited STOP and report it to them IMMEDIATELY.
>>
>>1288035
Tell me more?

>>1288033
Didn't say it's gonna tank, like I said I'm daytrading for easy daily 5% buying on the morning dip and selling on opens. If you wanna chase moon rockets that's a different strategy and not one that I pretend to be good at. See all those guys posting TTNP losses? That's what happens when you don't know what you're doing and you chase rockets. If you know what you're doing and your chasing rockets then you wouldn't have sold based on my daytrading advice, see >>1287920 .
>Don't cry because I got limited your gains, cry because you rely on anonymous 4chan posters til tell you what to do with your money
