There are legitimate shills on 4chan though. It's common knowledge that marketing companies target major websites for shilling.

Microsoft is a good example of a company that does a lot of PR work on 4chan.

Here's the problem you run into with other forums vs

Other forums, that require registrations and names, are usually locked down tight with political correctness. A small hand full of "power users" will often create a group think that anyone who speaks against it, whether right or wrong, will be either mocked out of the discussion (downvoted) or banned

Anonymous sites let you speak freely, but at the cost of anyone being able to shit post anything they want.

I can call you a dumb nigger and that your information is wrong with zero consequence. It doesn't help anyone or make the board any better though.

People who are new to the internet or are "normies" don't like this style of communication, so a lot of the intelligent people will avoid anonymous communication like this.

Personally, I'd rather have lower quality discussions with free speech (relatively speaking) than a circle jerk with slightly better information.

But this is ideal.

Being able to ban shitposters and be able to verify who's a lying fag or not and track posts is great.

Anoymous Imageboards are always only for fun because I can make opposing threads and nothing happens when you get banned.

You also can't easily verify that "OH right this guy responding to my thread is a multimillionaire who has been posting on this forum for 4 years and given out hundreds of great advices to people"

Listen to advice that is probable, contains verifiable premises and reaches a logical conclusion. There are some knowledgeable people here in business however if experience is what you're looking for, it's simply better to just ask a successful person via email or in person.
