they created an application useful in a branch I work in, that would cut our work time by 1/3. It is their student project, I want to invest in it, help them create a finished product and earn money by partially owning the enterprise.

now, since I noticed /biz/ knows shit about how a good contract should look like and which aspects I should look into that it doesn't bite me in the ass, I'll contact a lawyer and be done with it.
