Thoughts on Hash Ocean and other investments like them? Are they worth the spare change to throw at it in order to make a slow drip of income?
>>
I use them. It generates small amount of BTC every day and I withdraw weekly.
That withdrawal money then goes straight to btc gambling website.

How much power do you have with them? How long have you been using it? It looks nice to invest and then enjoy the small trickle of BTC every day.
>>
i seen it a month or 2 ago and looked into it. there seems to be a bit of hate around it on some crypto forums, but there are other coin mining sites too.

i signed up a week ago and got free power. yesterday i bought about $150 of mining power. if it is a scam or a ponzi, so be it, but there is 100 days until i make my money back, after that it is free money. for $150, i'll get back $550 a year (at current BTC value) so i'll make 1BTC from it in a year.

heres a jewcode if you'relooking at it: https://hashocean.com/pricing/?rid=560510

That is so much bullshit. You pay $150 or whatever to mine lifetime until profitability ends. u make like at most $50 bucks a year than magically is suspect profitability will end and you will be left holding the bag. Cloud mining is almost by def a ponzu scheme. How do you even know these guys are even mining? Send me 1000 in BTC. I will "mine" for you. I'll send you 10 or 20 bucks a week for a year or 2 then declare the difficulty is 2 high making the cost to mine too high. See ya! Fucking beta cuck assholes.

yeah the risk is the returns stop before the investment is paid back and a loss is made. everyday is 1% closer to repayment, after 100 days some returns are made. if it goes for another 100 days thats a 100%return over 7 months.
it is a bit risky, but it's only $150. and a ponzi scheme is only bad if you're late into it and you get stung.
it is crypto-speculation. win some, lose some.

AFAIK, the only "legitimate" company I have heard is genesis mining, or as legitimate as possible.

Basically, they are the only who have posted pics of their mining grid installations and have been around since 2014, so people who joined in 2015, depending on their contracts, should be receiving some profits by now. Given that after 2 years there haven't been signs of collapsing, I think is safe to assume that either their ponzi scheme is still going strong enough to give some quick profits to smart people, or they are legit.

But...

IIRC, their cheapest contract won't give a profit like for year and half, and they still have the "we reserve the right to fuck you and close everything down whenever we want" clause. Considering the incoming bitcoin halving, is hard to tell how this will affect the mining scenario.

Right now, I wouldn't invest on them until the bitcoin storm have passed and the contracts are redesigned. If there's still a company after it, of course.

> a ponzi scheme is only bad if you're late into it and you get stung.

>if you're late into it
>only bad
>if you happen to get lucky enough to not be the one to get fucked
Topkek. This should be a /biz/ sticky because this is actually how at least half this board really thinks. We have a ton of edgy little Bernie Madoff wannabes on this board who buy into ponzis/pyramid schemes/cryptos/mlms and then try to shill their way out of it so they aren't the ones that get fucked on the back end. Its sad the levels that people will stoop to when worming their way out of stupid, unnecessarily risky decisions.

it's true
hashocean is only like one and a half year old i think.
typical ponzi runs longer than that.
you have to bet if 3 more months are in the game or not. if you bet right you profit if you bet wrong you lose. if you think it will fold in 3 months and you don't play it you lose opportunity cost if you think it will not fold and it does then you lose your investment.
>>
>>1261689
allegedly hashocean mines altcoins like eth with gpus and exchange them for btc.
the eth hype is what drives hashocean on paper assuming it's not a ponzi. all the retards that buy that shit and pay in btc is the source of your income from hashocean.

https://hashocean.com/?rid=470464

also why it is expected that hashocen profitability will not be affected by the halvening.
but we will see.

so far i got 25% of my investment back no problems. some people turned a very nice profit for more than a year now.

but yes it can end any day. so invest your pocket change not your life savings.

To those who have some mining power, how much have you invested total?
>>
>>1261760
$12 ;)
>>
>>1261776
Suprised this thread still alive. Planning on going a few bucks in just to see how it goes. Is cloud mining the future or just a meme?
>>
>>1261760
$147

>>1262580
probably just a meme, but you never know. you might make a few bucks.
>>
>>1262580
it's definitely not the future. can it run for an other year? sure. but anything with returns like that and such a low entry cost is greatly suspect.

a few bucks is okay. whatever you would put on a table in a casino is definitely okay. here you have way better odds.

800

Genesis mining

Thank me later
