Hi there /biz
I'm looking to create some custom trading cards for resale. Not worried that anyone will "steal" my "idea" since you're all a bunch of lazy, autistic teenagers.
I'm thinking cards of celebrities, sports stars, politicians -- whoever.
Have several areas of concern:
1. Design. I'm a mediocre Photoshopper, so the backgrounds arent a huge issue. But I'm worried that when I shoop out the Nike logo (dont wanna get sued!) on Ben Simmons's shorts, for example, that it'll look janky.
2. Pricing: You know that econ101 concept where the same wine is actually *more* likely to sell at $100 than $50, because the buyer derives value from feeling like they spent a nice amount? I feel like that kinda applies here. I feel like pricing these cards at $14.99 instead of $4.99 will help buyers feel like they’re getting the best Ben Simmons rookie card for their bratty kid.
3. Serial numbers: How do I print those gold serial numbers myself (like on the back of Topps cards)? You know, the ones that go 1/10, 2/10, 3/10, etc. Was thinking of using a transparent label maker, but that will look cheap af.
Give me some free advice. Who knows maybe I’ll send you some Bitcoins if your advice doesnt suck
And yes I am serious about giving out Bitcoins

Expert photoshopper here. There's a tool specifically designed for this sort of thing and I'm pretty great at it. I use it to shoop the bikinis off of anime girls, so removing something small like a logo is no problem. I can offer my services for a fee.

how come one of your areas of concern isn't getting sued for profiting off the likeness of an athlete/celebrity?

You're aware that you can't just use their image willy nilly right?
