Basic desk jobs as opposed to...?

i was working on a web-based sales tracking system as a business analyst, with my customer being the sales team, and at the end of it the sales team offered me a job to go work for them instead of in IT. promoted & making significantly more money, but don't really use my degree much anymore.

I like sales a lot and wouldn't mind that. Is it common for someone to get a job right out of college with an MIS degree? Currently sitting around a 3.7 GPA after first full year

i dunno if it's common anymore; i graduated in '06 and had 3 - 4 jobs to choose from.

A lot of people I talk to mention good offers then others say the degree is pointless bc of CS, yet they focus on different aspects.
