So I'm graduating highschool next month and while most of my friends are going to college, I plan on starting my own business by next year. I never agreed with the way formal education was set up with so many flaws in today's educational system which I can go on and on about. Most people I assume go to college to take the safe road in life because they think a piece of fancy paper will give them job security for life with benefits. (Which is funny to me because many college students don't even have a job lined up after graduation( not to mention the shit ton of debt they'll be paying till they're 40. School is designed to create employees. They tell us "get a 4.0, go to college, study, and everything's going to be alright". That's why people say "go to school to get a good job". I don't like the idea of someone dictating my life telling me how much I will get paid for this many hours living paycheck to paycheck, doing the same task every day. It's like people are robots no wonder people get tired of their lives. but they tolerate it because well someone has to pay the bills. Most people want to be wealthy, but don't want to put the effort in like i am. They make the mistake of working for money rather than working to create assets which will later make money work for you. I'm willing to sacrifice a lot and go through hell where most people won't go, to later live the life that everyone wants. but I don't want to pay thousands of dollars so I can take pointless classes I don't need then read a lot of words on how to create a business. Wouldn't it be better to get out there and start and find mentors while learning along the way? I prefer to be self educated. I read a lot and nowadays with the internet, you can literally learn the same things in one year than in four years at college for FREE. Obviously you need college to be a doctor or lawyer etc. however most things I believe can be self taught. My goal is to be a millionaire entrepreneur and investor before 30.

Ok?
For being as smart as you feel you are. You're not as smart as you think. Can you get a good job out of college. Sure can. Is college a meme and arguably unnecessary. Arguably yes. If starting a business was easy, everyone would do it.

Let's view this:the next few days, go on here and check how many people tell you college is worthless and how everyone wants to start a business and compare that to the zero people who started a business and succeeded who dogged on college.

Successful people or business owners were going to be just that. College or not. College helps with putting you near other people who want to achieve something.

Can you be successful sitting at home after high school contemplating a business idea while everyone else goes to college?
You go to school for competition with others. You should go to network with individuals who have your passion. You go for a rough experience or even meeting your significant other.

People make a mistake, as many on this Chinese noodle board do, of believing that mainstream memes gotta be bad. That they want to risk the .01% chance that their business or ideas will carry them to greatness. But what we don't realize is we barely got by in school with our zero skills or talents. If we had skills we wouldn't be here talking about how college is a scam. Successful people or possibly successful people talk about success and getting there or being there, not trivial shit or pointing out pointless things.

Fucking hell anon its like you aren't even asking for advice. You just opened my eyes right there and im not kidding. You just answered your question no you don't need college but yes you do need it to get accepted/succesful in this society.

I always thought it was cute that "smart" people always have trouble with tests; you know, those things that are used to determine how much you know.

> Just graduate last week
> Put Resume out 2 weeks ago
> Most jobs require a resume
> 14 interviews so far, 4 offers, 2 in my field of expertise, one making 60k (8% matching 401k) and the other 64k (3% matching 401k) - but yea, fuck me for being debt free and getting a safe cushy office job.

Most jobs require a Degree*
>>
I'm not reading that wall of text because your image leads to suspect it's another "im really smart but lazy xD". No, you're a retard, no one cares about hard you do or don't work, they care about results, and the lazy genius and the nigger are equals.
>>
>Smart
>but lazy

I guarantee thats what you are sayinh in that wall of text. So I'll give the most simply advice since this is a buisness board.

Your marketable, and chance of profit significantly increases with a bachelor degree
>>
>still in high school
>lazy, thinks he knows jack shit about the world

Makes sense.

wait is this bait oh fuggggg lol
>>
>>1239046

Not reading all of that. If you're trying to be an entrepreneur and you're asking others if you can be successful then take a step back and think about what you're asking.

Why should you care what others think? If you're good at something that provides value for others you will find success.

>My goal is to be a millionaire entrepreneur and investor before 30.
Just like every jack ass who thinks its easy to become a millionaire.

If you can't even get through college then you probably have neither the intelligence, nor the discipline, nor the determination to be a successful entrepreneur.
>>
>>1239046
If you have to ask, you aren't sure at all. If you aren't sure and you want to do something else, think again.
>>
No, education is not a requirement to become a successful enterpreneur.
In fact, a lot of people that made it to the sky and became rich doing business never attended college.

Knowledge is everywhere, if you can learn from others and absorb valuable lessons then all you need is determination and hard work to become successful.
>>
>>1239046
Buddy you sound like a genuine idiot
>>
>>1239046

This is low tier bait

At least making it funny or subtle
>>
>>1239046
How do you measure successful?
I only went to middleschool and I own a business that is making 300,000€ profit this year. In USA you could x3-4 that because much easier to grow a business there.
>>
Didn't read your poorly formed wall of text but the answer is no. You do not need a college education to become an entrepreneur, you just need intelligence.
>>
>>1239046
Holy shit OP. I did exactly what you mentioned. I have the same ambitions. I started a biz out of highschool and desu it's not really that hard. I started very small with barebones equipment out of my parents basement and slowly built up over the years. It's been a long hard road with many tireless nights but being almost 100% in control of my life is one of the greatest feelings ever. My #1 main source of info when starting was the internet. It still amazes me that we have so much knowledge that can be accessed almost instantly and few people really take full advantage of it.

But like others have said no one gives a shit about how "smart" you are. Prove it with results. Let your actions speak for themselves.
>>
>>1239544
Not OP, but is there any advice you could share about the process? How old are you now? How long did it take/how tough was it to get to your current point? What have you accomplished?
I just registered a business with friends about a month ago and we're still in the initial fucky stages of setting up, and I've had some doubts as to whether we'll be able to get ourselves off the ground (for many reasons).
>>
>>1239046
Listen OP, you seem like an arrogant kid who is going to be pissing against the wind and is in for a lot of rough nights.

That being said I 100% support what you are doing. I was just like you, arrogant as fuck, decided to ignore college and start a business. My business failed after 1.5 years but I learned more in that time than any of my other friends. The most important thing was that my business gave me transferable skills and real world contacts.

So what am I saying? You'll probably fail but that is good for someone your age. Fuck college.
