i know nothing whatsoever about it though, just struggling for money. if it means having a room filled with horrible shit like this then fuck it, i'll do it, but that's as much as i know about it. when i was a kid i knew a dude whose sole job was to breed and sell lizards and snakes, which he did at home, big house, nice area, nice car blah etc. is it worth looking into?

I used to manage a pet store. The good money is in rare reptiles and rare birds. I'd say go for reptiles, birds take a lot of special care and can easily die.

It's most likely ilegal, and not many people want, can pay for or know how to handle exotic animals. Hell, most people don't know how to raise a dog.

It might be a somewhat profitable venture op, but to make big money you risk going to jail or being killed by the goons of some big wildlife trader.

Anyway do not go for tarantulas, even if they lay a hundred eggs you'll just be stuck with them because nobody will buy them from you. There's not that many arachnid lovers to warrant one hundred fucking monstrosities possibly escaping.


I suggest exotic fish. They breed just as much and aren't as dangerous or easy to escape.
A reptile? He'll run on his feet and cloak like the chameleon bastard he is.
A bird? One little open window and goodbye to your profit.

Plus all these animals require appropriate exhibits full of expensive foliage in order to breed properly.

I second this. Exotic fish (captive bred, not wild as they don't do well) and live corral. People (myself included) spend a fortune on aquariums. It'd be a very good business to be in.
