Is Accounting over-saturated? What's a better alternative?
Come on, someone has to know.

It isn't over saturated, many people don't make it to the big 4, and get burned out working 3000 hours a year for 40k.
Yes.
Anything
No
Whatever you like
Do what you like and dont be a fucking lazy asshole
yes accounting is very saturated

Because it depends on location and it depends on your motivation? What do you want to do? Stop listening to what other people tell you and figure it out. If you just go and "do" accounting you'll probably half ass it and wont be anything more than an entry level specialist your entire life and then act all bitter. If you enjoy it and focus on soft skills and network you can create a great career out of it but it literally all depends on how hard you work. Accounting can be very fucking boring and very stressful but it's also safe and pays well, we cant give you the answers though, I dont know what you're like or what you enjoy.
Why do I read in all these automation articles that accounting will be one of the first things to go?
What will that program look like? I don't really know what accountants do on a daily basis

It's not over saturated, you will most likely have a guaranteed middle class lifestyle mid-point through your career. Big 4 is a longshot

This is the best answer. It truly depends on you OP. Work your ass off and make sure it's something you enjoy because the money, although decent (depending on your def.) isn't glamorous.

Lol you still get burnt out in the big 4... Unless you drastically get promoted you'll still be grinding work for not that much cash...
