I was in one for a bit less than a year. DESU, it was pretty fun, low-stress. Other ones may be more busy and stressful, but personally I enjoyed it.

Mine consists in Apple customer service and the pay is acceptable to say, have heard many people who burnout, can you confirm?

Just go in with an easy-going attitude. People on the phone will appreciate it more, management will like that you're relaxed, and you can avoid burnout by not taking stuff personally. Even if someone's a total dickhead, once you're off the phone it doesn't matter. Keep that in mind.

exactly this. just relax and its no big deal. complaining about people is stupid in general, theyre gonna be the way they are no matter what. dont know how you'd burn out on this, maybe get bored and want to do something else, yes.

it helped a looooooot to just be playful and easy-going on the phone, people will appreciate it way more than just being a robot. plus it'll just be more fun for you.

I worked in a call center for a year doing claims processing support for Medco and then Express Scripts. It wasn't that bad.

I also worked taking credit card applications for Citibank credit cards for 4 months. That was worse but it wasn't intolerable.

Tons of overtime was available if you're into that.

Your experience will vary tremendously depending on what program you're working with.

The highest paid people at my call center were the ones who did saves for Sirius XM. They were the ones who'd convince people not to cancel their satellite radio subscriptions.

The biggest money is in outbound telemarketing if you're good. I did telemarketing selling ad-space on maps one summer. The people who were great (and most were not) pulled down $75k+ a year.
