is there a website where i can learn the basics about buying and selling stocks and gradually progress (like an ABC's of investing book or something) because i usually have nothing better to do that sit on my laptop and watch prices fluctuate. I could also get a mutual fund but i am wondering how could i get started doing that also? pic unrelated

You'll learn nothing from stocks if you buy a mutual fund, buy an etf if you really want. Just set up a practice account with your bank, it's pretty straightforward.

ill try and see if my bank will allow me to do that, would you recommend just trading on google with like $50?

Set up a paper account. You can't buy Google for $50, as their class A shares trade for $700+ per share
