Well /biz/ I just started looking through the coin collection that my grandfather left me a year or two ago and just counting the $1 presidental coins I have around $1,300. That dosen`t include any of the proof sets or 1oz silver coins in the collection.
Because having a shitload of assets rotting away under my bed is a stupid idea I figure that I should sell all of it off. Does anyone have any experence with selling a whole bunch of coins?

You can sell the coins to a coin store. Almost every decently sized town has a coin store.
Before you go, though, you should get a good feeling for what the coins are worth.
I believe the gold president coins are made of some base metal so I wouldn't be expecting more than $1 each. They are legal tender so you could always just deposit them with a bank for $1/coin.
I really don't think the president coins being proof is going to get you much of a premium from the coin stores. The coins are not very attractive and, if I remember correctly, they're not made out of silver or gold.

Don't listen to this idiot, Coinstar takes 10%. Just deposit them at a bank, a little at a time, everytime you do a run there.
That, or a coin store.
