So /biz/, a buddy and I want to start an investment club at my school (Mid-sized state university.) We already talked to a professor, but need ideas on what we could do.

You could have a stock simulator competition I guess. Talk about investing strategies I suppose. Current events maybe?

>stock simulator competition
that's the obvious choice.
not sure how serious you guys want to get, but you could do free consulting for small businesses, help them cut costs, etc. then write case studies on what you did. that's obviously a lot more work than just getting together once a week/month, but it would look great on a resume.
Do you guys have an investments major/ program? We have an investment club and we manage etfs. We actually get real money tho to invest, which may be a problem for you. If you can't get real money then just make a simulation game and discuss good investment strategies. Maybe join a competition

Just a tip from a Tradie. Get a white collar job, the guys are going to eat you alive until you quit anyway. We don't like pulling other peoples weight on top of our own, and we'll certainly tell you. I've seen so many beta pussies try and make it in the trade world, it always ends badly. Death included too buddy. Think twice mate.
