Star Wars is still the 3rd highest grossing film even adjusting for inflation. Titanic and Avatar are also up there. The infrastructure for movie sales is just a lot more developed than even 30 years ago. It's still interesting that the highest grossing movie of all time (inflation adjusted) is Gone with the Wind, though.

But... what does this all have to do with business and finance? What's the angle here?
