At what age should aspiring /biz/nessmen move out by?
>>
>>1167767

Im 23 and still live at home on my parent's property, but in a separate building with an apartment. I live there rent free, but pay my dues by helping maintain the property.

I have no intention to move out until I'm quite financially secure, aiming to buy a house by 30 and have a nice nest working. Live your life to what suits you OP.
>>
>>1167782
Am I foolish for moving out at almost 21?
>>
>>1167767
Until you get married. Don't fall for the, "I'll just waste all this money on rent so I can tell people I'm independent" meme.
>>
I had no choice, moved out at 22.

Shit sucks.
>>
>>1167784
What if I don't plan on getting married?

I don't really like living with my parents, it's hard to have sexual relationships or have friends over.

How is it a meme exactly? Rent isn't that much money unless you work minimum wage.
>>
>graduate high school early
>still live with mom while every one of my peers moves off to colleges they cant afford
>have good job but be fucking retarded with my money
>waste every cent I earn for 3 years
>finally wise up after lurking /biz/ and develop good saving habits
>have shit job: long hours little pay but still trying to scrimp and save (to no avail because bills and tiny-ass paychecks)
>suddenly mom wants me to move out
>move in with gf into cheap efficiency apartment
>know now how to be smart with my money but have absolutely no savings

its an abstract kinda feel. live with em until they wont let you anymore. dont forget to not be a complete retard like I was 18-21
>>
>>1167798
Sounds like moving out did a lot for you, and that it would have been best to do so as soon as possible.
>>
Preferably as late as possible. A few hundred thousand dollars has fucking massive investment potential. Renting, like gambling, is for literal retards who dont understand money.
>>
>>1167832
I'm 26, and living with my parents. Have 200k cash saved up, a real estate license and ready to buy a house. Never paid rent.
>>
>>1167845
Your parents are cuckolds.
>>
>>1167853
Ironically that is pretty much the opposite of cuckold.
>>
>>1167789
Same here senpai but it was 21.

Not too bad though. I have a decent college student job and I have less than a couple years till I graduate in a relatively high demand field. I probably have more debt than some people my age but it's way less than your average college student.

No complaints desu mate.
>>
>>1167792
Dumbass with a grin move is to buy a house with mortgage when you become barely eligible for the loan, cheap rental house is fine if you can easily afford it.
Biggest mistake you can make is getting mortgage for a house you barely can afford, it puts you in threat of homelessness if you fuck something up and get fired from your "steady" job.
>>
>>1167870
>Ironically that is pretty much the opposite of cuckold.

Allowing an adult, fully capable of earning his own money(evidenced by $200k savings) living with them for so long and not even charging rent is a little cuckold-like.
>>
>>1167883
I don't want a house.

It's overpriced and unnecessary. I'll rent for life.
>>
>>1168239
kill yourself faggot
>>
>>1167884
I'm sorry your parents don't love you, or they are such degenerates that having their own son live with them for a couple years after college is a burden for them. My parents have a large enough house with extra rooms and make plenty of money.
>>
>>1167886
Renting has benefits but usually if you live somewhere long enough, it is cheaper to buy long run. Even if it is an overpriced market.

my parents didnt do this for me.
it's fucking hard to get ahead. I would do this for my children if they ever happen.

really its a parents responsibility to do everything they can to make sure their child has the best start in life. its why the fuck off you're 18 make your own way mentality is recklessly irresponsible.
>>
There's absolutely no reason to still live at home after you finished high school.

If you do, you are a manchild.
>>
>>1167767
As late as possible if your parents are cool, you can save so much cash that way, I pay part of the bills at my parents house in exchange for living here and I've done the math, i wouldn't be in near as comfy a situation financially if I had to rent and pay all bills myself.
>>
>>1168321
>he didnt get a job straight after school in sales and buy his first house and build a business in five years ensuring financial stability for the rest of his life
>he moved out and plans to pay off his mortgage in 20 years
way to fuck yourself over and waste the best years of your life.
>>
>>1168337

Better than being a leeching, grown man who refuses to support himself.

Pathetic.

stay cucked.
stay mad that your parents didnt give you everything you needed to become happy.
pass on your misery to your children.

you know, the people I know from my childhood who are happy, have stable relationships and good jobs are the kids whos parents bought a house next to a university for them to live in while they studied medicine and paid for any sundry expenses like travel allowances and living costs while they did their internships. or people who lived with their parents until they bought a few houses and got married.

in a lot of European cultures its normal for kids to live with their parents until they get married. this only changed during the industrial revolution when people literally had to pair off and move to the city for work. germaine greer did one of her PhDs in the way the industrial revolution created the modern idea of the nuclear family. it was unheard of in antiquity. people lived in compounds, aunts, uncles, grandparents, children, all lived together. now instead its this horse shit every man for himself culture. i am sorry that your parents didnt love you and couldnt wait for you to leave home.

Once you can afford it? Around here it's common to move out at ~17-20. Mostly because of the free college which leads to social pressure, it's considered weird to be over 21 and live with your parents. I moved out at 19 right after serving ½ year in army (conscription) because the University was in another town. Dunno if I could had done it if it wasn't for those socialism bucks (~550€/month), zero interest student loans and free Uni (no tuitions).
>>1168360
It sure would be a lot more economical to have young adults live at home for as long as possible. Ideally for so long they don't have to take outrageous loans to buy their own house. In here though, the idea that every adult has the right to live in a state-paid rental flat has become an ''aquired benefit'' and somewhat of a ''human right''. It'd be a political suicide to even suggest removing it. So don't vote commies bros, once people get comfy with benefits it'll be a hell to try taking them away.
>>
>>1167767
Not this damn thread again.

The true /biz/nessman's answer is: Whenever he wants or needs to.

If home life is peaceful, folks are chill, then perhaps you can save some money by living at home.

But if there are reasons to move out, like this guy:
>>1167792
>I don't really like living with my parents, it's hard to have sexual relationships or have friends over.
Then sure, go for it.

Do what you want, make money, be happy. Don't make bad financial decisions due to peer pressure.
>>
>>1167783
You are foolish if it damaged you financially.
>>
>>1167875
Had to move out at 18 for a shitty for profit school. Get on my level.

Actually don't. Play it smart and don't be like me.

Now whose nose is sticking out behind that post!?
Moving out is a meme pushed on the young by your landlording class. Unless you can get a good deal, or split expenses its not worth it. I only moved out half a year ago cause I could split expenses with gf so it comes out super cheap.

>but...but how did you date and bang before?
>>r9k. Okay, let me explain - when the chick really wants it, the location isn't a problem. If you really need some privacy get an old beater car.

Now get back to r9k.
>>
I'm 24 and have about 19k in savings. As another poster said it is hard to have friends over or bang roasties.

I'll probably spend this summer at home because I live near the water and it's fun to spend time out there. After that I'll probably move in with a friend for about 650 a month. Will only consider buying if I find a really good deal on a duplex.

Living at home is definitely shitty at times (I don't have a bedroom door), i work full time but I'm still treated like a child. I'm definitely running to the end of my rope.
>>
>>1167784

I signed a job offer at a place thats 1 hour away from my parent's house by bus, so I'm planning on moving out there so I can save time on the commute and convert that to sweet sweet sleeping time.

Sucks too, because I love living at home, it's just 2 hours a day on the bus is hard to justify.

>Tfw it's one of the tech giants

>>1167767
I think the world is changing and people haven't quite adapted yet.

Especially with gathering massive wealth and finances by trading or setting up a company.

There's only one small window in your life where this is extremely easy (relatively speaking).

When you finish(or are finishing) your studies, have a job but aren't paying any expenses because you're living with your parents. This 3-8 year 'block' of time is likely the only time in your life where you will have mountains of risk free capital. You have plenty of money. You could take all your money and throw it into a deep hole.... losing it all.... and your living standard wouldn't be affected pretty much at all. There is no other time in your life where that's true.

It sucks that a lot of people get kicked out, or leave early because "Lmao I don't want to live with parents"... it's basically being pre-maturely born in the financial sense.

Signs you up for a much harder life, for the rest of your life, and takes away that one chance you had at making it big early and easily.
>>
>all these poors in /biz/

If staying with my parents for a little bit longer than usual translates into no financial worries for the rest of my life at the exchange of being called a "cuck" on the internet by a worthless poor, then prep the bull, fuck my wife and meet her son.
>>
>>1169866
Lol, well memed. I do agree with you 100%
>>
>>1168934
Having premarital sex increases your chances of eventual divorce, and moving out of home for any reason other than to start your own family is a massive waste of money.
>>
>>1169957
>moving out of home for any reason other than to start your own family is a massive waste of money.
And it's actually still a massive waste of money. Having a large multi-generational home is most efficient resource wise. Also means you'll never need to hire a babysitter or put your kids in daycare and you'll hardly need to worry about cooking great food, because the grandparents will be right there to help out.
>>
I just started a job where I make $40k and am looking to move to North Carolina where rent for a good apartment is around $600-900 a month.

How much money do you think I should save before I decide to take off? I've figured about $15-20k will do me good to move out if I don't get a job down there first.
>>
>>1169957
>>1169962
What good is money if you can't even spend it on living on your own? What are you saving for? $5million casket?

Everything is a fucking "waste of money". Should I eat soup out of cans and carpool everywhere?

>Having premarital sex increases your chances of eventual divorce

Correlation is not causation. Everyone has sex before marriage, autist. We're not in the 1800's.

Plus I don't plan on getting married, and neither are you most likely.
>>
>>1169974
$10k is more than enough.

Just make sure to spend 1/3rd of your post-tax income on rent per month. Any less and that's even better.
>>
>>1167884
I'm pretty sure if I was a parent all I would want in life is for my children to succeed their fucking asses off. Screw retirement.
>>
>>1169979
Most families are poor as fuck and could do to reduce their expenses. Not having every family member buy their own house would contribute significantly toward reducing expenses.

Sure if you're a rich lawyer or successful engineer and you're swimming in money you can do what you want, but 50% of Americans have a net worth of 45k or less. If you pooled that among two or three generations most families would actually be doing pretty well.
>>
>>1169992
Perhaps but what I'm getting at is that moving out is probably the best value for your money.

Most people's parents are dicks, they don't want to keep pushing each other around and thus split apart and visit on holidays.

Also you're forgetting a big component which is learning life skills and getting a drive to actually earn money.

It's hard to actually learn to budget, save, and other basic necessities.

Everyone who stays with their parents excessively is almost always a "little weird". Either aspie, manchild, momma's boy, etc.
>>
>>1170003
And almost everyone who moves out asap is a poorfag struggling to support themselves, living hand to mouth. Including most peoples' parents, because they did that shit too.
>>
>>1170005
Not necessarily.

Unless you literally move out as soon as you turn 18. Besides your parents would probably help you a little with money.
>>
>>1170003
This really comes down to culture. If you are a low class white american, then maybe staying with your parents means you are shit.

If you come from an educated family well-off family or even a non-American family then this is flat out false. For example: Asian family moves to the US, has good saving habits, makes money and invests in their family and children. Children do well in education, become doctors, engineers or whatever AND their parents taught them how to manage their finances.

So here they are living with their parents, or even a property owned by their parents while they are studying or starting out their high paying career. On top of this, they aren't an inbred burger faggot like you, so they know how to budget and be responsible.

disclaimer: I am white american but kek all day at how horrible the average amerifag is at finances.
>>
>>1170060
Asian children, especially ones who later become Westernized always get frustrated by their families' controlling ways and/or they have severe social or mental issues.

That's why they rebel, end up killing themselves or try to move out when possible.

Face it: staying with your parents excessively just flatout doesn't work. It ALWAYS leads to problems. Only in your retarded theories do people of different generations collaborate and respect eachother's boundaries and merge their finances flawlessly.

Your asian family example is actually hilarious. Ask any Asian and he will tell you about how their parents tried/s to control everything in his life from relationships to college major. And it's to a lesser extent but much the same for most cultures.

So unless you want to be your parent's little cuck and be a momma's boy you should move out. But this is 4chan of course, maybe it's your fetish and you get off on being dominated by your parents.

Hey at least you're saving <$15,000/yr, right!!!??!!! Maybe after 30 years of saving by living with your parents you'll have half a million and can finally begin your life as an adult at the ripe ol' age of near 50.
>>
>>1170078
not everyone lives in rural wyoming where you can live on 15k but even then 15k a year for a few years after undergrad can be critical
>>
What should be my goal number of savings before I move out and start renting? I get about 2000 a month after taxes (20% raise should kick in next month), have just about $20000 in savings currently.

I want to live in the city but rent there is over 1300, so I'll have to settle on $700 in another city and have a shit commute two days a week most likely.
>>
Some weird views on life in this thread.

Yes, renting is not cost effective compared to living with your parents, but surely quality of life is important too?
I moved out a year ago at the age of 23 and i've been much happier with my own space. I can bring girls back I don't know (happened 4 times so far but this is increasing with my value), plus it's located nearer work, giving me more social time where I might even make contacts.

Although my parents lived quite far away from work so I kinda had to do it.

Allowing is fine. Parents are supposed to do anything they can to help. The problem is that he's a loser who never grew up which means the parents didn't help where it was needed more importantly. 20+ still sucking on mom and dads tits for food and shelter is pathetic. Even in places where there's nowhere to go people work together to support the whole group, whether that be peers of the same age or big senpaitachi.
The shock of moving out on your own is hard enough as a young adult, the more he waits the more useless he will be later. Also if it actually burdened the parents he's a dick.
>>
>>1170727

people need to move out for a job it makes sense, that's a solid reason

doing drugs and sleeping around is not

>>
>>1170733
Agreed for sure.

I think that poster's point was more that his (somewhat elderly) parents are still working hard to provide for him and yet he can't even pay for some expenses.

It's just a little ridiculous. Parents are people too, at some point they want to raise their child and live independently and do what they like, not keep supporting a manchild who is well past the age of majority

the real estate industry is about as inventive as a dusty vhs tape. strong economy led to increased consumption and expenses. people move out to follow their academic or professional interests, not to drink more milk you stupid cuck. when its not necessary people move out to have more space to start their own family. if these sorts of things haven't motivated you to stop begging mom and dad to help you put on your pants every day, then yeah there may be a concern over your maturity. you neglect how fucking lazy people are and how anyone would love to be a manchild like you if it didn't come with heavy consequences far worse than spending some extra money on furniture.

Because living under your parents' roof results in them imposing rules and treating you less than your age. Like are you people even from this planet?

Have you ever brought a girl home to your parents house? How did that go?

When you live on your own you do whatever you want.

Seriously fuck this retarded manchild board
>>
>>1170917
plenty of people do without shame. maybe a quarter of my high school friends went back at least short term after college. one of my coworkers who was respected by everyone was taking care of her mother at home and didn't even have a boyfriend.

why don't most people? because its easy to live on your own or with friends, and because people feel more independent doing that. because jobs usually arent near the family home. because you've already experienced your hometown/region and want to explore the world more in a time where it's easier than ever. because the culture is driven toward personal success and taking opportunities where you can get them. because it's common that kids around the world move out to their own place once they find a good relationship, and if you don't have one by 25-28 you're probably not trying. these are a lot more valid than some Stan Burbank Realty conspiracy.

living in mommys basement or whatever is associated with being a loser because they are the ones who make it define them. if you've got a good life going it might be a small problem or it might not be and they just live on without caring, but a lot of things are usually wrong for you to be in that situation and people can spot that even from a desperate 4chan post. its the same thing with like autism shoes or video game addictions.

I'm 36 and I'm still living with my parents. I've NEVER had to pay rent or buy my own food, my mom just buys everything for me.

Kind of sucks though because sometimes she's too tired from work so there's days I go without my favorite foods but it's not that bad.

I never really had a girlfriend because Chads and Jews keep cucking me but at least I never got trolled by the landlord kikes.

My dad is some conspiracy theorist who think college is a scam and my mom's an anti capitalist hippie who's raised my siblings to be bernie loving idiots. I'd blow my brains out if I could afford a fucking gun.

I just want to go to school, have my own apartment and make money. Probably gonna fly to city and be homeless while I try to find work, I figure if I can find a job in at least 3 days I should be fine.

My rule is to do it if it makes you happy. That applies to everything, not just moving out of your parents' house.

Would you rather be the guy who moved out, started spending $500 / month on rent, and loved it. Or would you prefer being the guy who stayed, but you were completely miserable for it?

Join the military. That's what Adam Driver did after he drove out to California to make it and failed within days.

Lol, I live in Chicago and most rich people's kids (in their late 20s) buy narrow ~$1M houses on the north side and remodel them.
