What is the biggest lesson you have learned in the corporate world?
>>
Never trust a nigga

always important but niggas don't exist in the corporate world anyway
>>
>>1152479
Theys niggas just in a suit and good hair
>>
Most people in the office don't do shit. Maybe 4 hours work a day at most, the rest of their time is spent bullshitting with coworkers or whoever.

You could probably halve any office and still be fine but everybody wants more people under them and more people to talk to and to get their nephew a job etc.

1) People want to be flattered.
2) People hate knowing that they're being flattered.
>>
>>1152475
the jew cries out in pain as it strikes you
>>
It's more important to be liked than right.
>>
>>1152479
He's not saying "never trust a *nigger*", he's saying "never *trust* a nigga" i.e. don't trust anyone
>>
>Ask questions to your boss & colleagues
>bring a notepad everywhere and write shit down (even if you're not gonna use it)
>make an excel/word document which guides you through all different actions you have to do/did.
>If you make a mistake, tell it to your boss & try to solve it asap instead of sweeping it under the rug.
>kiss ass and be friendly. Always say yes whenever someone asks you to do smth work-related
>act as if it's the best job you could have. Mention that you'd like to stay at the company (even if you don't)
>ask for advice. Don't try to correct. If you know smth better than your colleagues, try to turn it around as if they were the ones that helped you. Express your thanks.
>be sociable at work. Always write "Hi xxx," in your email instead of "Dear xxx," whenever it concerns people you already know.
>ask for feedback whenever unsure about something.

In short: just do your work and kiss asses

If you're in any kind of technical role where you have to deal with salespeople, data is both a weapon and armour.

These people are usually non-technical retards who get by by shouting louder than the next person. They work on opinions, but immediately back down when presented with data.

So basically, back your shit up with numbers (even sketchy ones), and call them out on bullshit feelpinions, ask them for sauce. It'll make your life easier, as you can tell them politely to fuck off when they ask you for vid related:

Don't back down to superiors. They're people too and they'll respect you more if you can prove them wrong.
>>
If you work in a tech startup, bear in mind that seniority tends to refer to how long you've been there, not your job title, so it's important to learn the real pecking order once you get in

Make sure you are earning $10,000 per month from your own investments by the time you turn 56.

Pimps up, hos down.
>>
Things can be achieved through merit, but it is always infinitely easier to know the right people.
>>
That the corporate class is genuinely stupid and exists in its current incarnation mostly due to nepotism, cronyism, and incest outweighing infighting. At some point the axe will come down though, and fat will be trimmed. But that will be prolongrd as much as possible.

6-part essay/series on organizational psychology: "The Gervais Principle"

http://www.ribbonfarm.com/2009/10/07/the-gervais-principle-or-the-office-according-to-the-office/

Sociopaths are driven to win. Losers are happy with a paycheck. Clueless show up and manage the losers (rather than letting the Sociopaths burn them out). Sociopaths exit, Losers get other jobs, and the Clueless run the remainder of the company into the ground.

There's nothing wrong with being any of these three groups - and through our careers, we, ourselves, will find ourselves drifting from group to group. People in all three groups can have successful/enjoyable careers as they define "successful," but in order to do so, you must understand at all times where you fit in the hierarchy and act accordingly.

That aside from being liked, you know, if they are letting people go then you want to be liked. The Corp really gives a fuck about the human angle, people who have helped build the company, culture, formed relationships with clients and their work, put in time and sacrificed their work/life balance. Because the 'health' of the company is what matters to the equity group and their profit margins I can only assume.

Personal changes and an heir of uncertainty top brass can use to leverage against employee negotiating remuneration or just plain pleasant environment to be in. It is the dark side of humanity really.

Working hard is a meme

The best thing you can do for success is exploit others. Hire a recent college grad for pennies or outsource to an Indian senpaitachi
>>
Stop working for someone else because it blows.
