How do feel about Dave ?
Decent advice if you're a wagecuck with no self control that thinks credit is unlimited magic money.
The shilling is off the charts though. He shills managed mutual funds because he is sponsored by them
He's still a boomer that can barely turn a computer on though. Remember that he makes all of his money as a motivational speaker, not through financial coaching. All of his wealth comes from books and public speaking events.

This desu
His advice is good for the average middle class American. It's not so much "how to get rich" as it is "how to not drastically Fuck up with your money"

I read one of his books. It just seemed so basic that I thought he was just telling me to do common sense things that I already did.
That God shit gets old... But he banks on those dumb evangelicals

disagreed.
It'll move you from the poorhouse to low to medium class.
He's a hardcore shill though. and seriously inflates numbers.

Top kek at claiming an average 12% from managed mutual funds, but never saying what they are and no one can figure out what these mystery funds are or where to buy them at.

They're part of his special monthly coaching program.

Listen to him if you want to not spend any money forever and be a well-off pensioner.
Fuck. That. Shit.
The conventional advice is -
A) too boring
B) too slow.
C) too safe.
>implying the government doesn't slowly bleed everyone dry, generation by generation.
>upsells the flawed 'compound interest' model, downplays inflation, taxes, market instability, etc etc
>neatly sidesteps the real factor of 'risk vs reward'
- if merely 'not being homeless' can be defined as a goal, then go for it. I'm more of an 'all or nothing' mentality. Merely plodding along took too much effort just to keep the lights on because I was stuck in a working class mindset and habits. Breaking the chain meant quitting my job and hacking, hustling and self-employment through fear. Actually becoming homeless is real motivation, and was the best thing that happened to me.

He's a meme. He has basically 10,000 variations of the same, 'get out of debt' line. That's great Dave, but where's the substance?
Reading his book made me interested in personal finance. It isn't all great, like his investment advice as people have said. I think the biggest things i got from it:
>Make a budget
>Payoff debts fast (I did it by interest rate though, debt free since Dec. 2015)
>Emergency fund
>Better understanding insurance.
His investment advice never passed the smell test for me but after the most basic of google searches you find a wealth of info.

That's the one thing you really have to do the math on though.
The interest Rates is correct on a continuous function every time.
But Debt is a piece-wise function.
Also different Cards have a different Principle repayment rate. Usually 1% or 2% and it makes a difference.
So for many people the debt snowball is significantly faster paying off the small balances first.
The actual numbers are trickier than the models.

>Better understanding insurance.
That part actually interested me,
Since I have been hearing it more from surprisingly unconventional and contrarian sources.
Also, as a britfag, maybe I'm biased,
Maybe because we seem to have a semi-socialist leaning, in other words, we tend to think the government should sort it out, and insurance is a necessary evil - few people think beyond mandatory insurance for a car, or some basic travel or home insurance.
It's like talking another language here.
I often discuss private healthcare plans I am interested in, and people would ask if I am rich.
I don't get the connection.
Since we have NI - National Insurance,
Which basically pays for sick pay, maternity leave, unemployment benefit, healthcare, etc it seems to be viewed as a scam, or somebody else's problem.
Care to drop some knowledge?
Good advice and motivation for getting out of debt.
However, if you follow his Facebook page or watch his show, he preaches the same 10 points and every article that he posts on Facebook ends with "Contact your ELP (Endorsed Local Provider) Today!"
