But seriously, most of the people I know who hate him do so because they consider him a hypocrite, or at the very least, trying to have his cake and eat it too.
Either you can claim economics is a pure science, and you're willing to do a 180 when conflicting evidence arises, or you're in the tank for one side or the other.
If that's your pick, you not only claim that said science 'naturally' works in your favor, you also use the professional nature of your occupation to shield yourself from criticism.
