>I bought pnd

I lost a bit of money... Never again though.

Thankfully bought ethcuck
>>
>>1127672
This. I bought dogecoin and PND and bitcoin and litecoin and bizcoin like /biz/ told me too and lost a shitload of money. Never again. Now I bought ethercuck and am going to win it all back.
>>
I fell for the renting meme.
>>
>>1127818
Renting is not a meme though.
>>
>>1127676
Lmao this is 90% of this board. Go buy Monero, you idiots
>>
I made $27k in January on stock options then promptly lost it by putting it all on Amazon calls when their quarterly report was underwhelming.
>>
>>1127827
>buying a ponyfucker coin

no thanks
>>
>>1127825

It is. I finally got a mortgage and my housing costs are $250 cheaper. For the past 7 years I've been renting. That costed me $21K and I could have bought houses are rock bottom prices. But no my professor said renting is better. Spend $1,000 a month to own absolutely nothing. Might as well lease a car, get a contract phone instead of buying it yourself, etc.
>>
I'm 24 years old, no degree, no job. Still a year of school left. I'm a failure.
>>
>>1127831
and now what are you up by? do you buy weeklies or options that expire a few weeks into the future?
>>
I keep on recommending the sales as a career meme.
>>
>>1127836

there is no universal truth.

it really depends on what market you're in.
>>
>>1127842
I buy weeklies that are slightly out of the money. I started at around 10K and have about 14k now. Decent considering that I've been in this game since only Dec. 26th. That's, what, a 40% return in a little over 2 months?

Nothing compared to the 300% or so in one month, but still. Oops.
>>
>>1127850

Have you tried trading futures options? I'm in a private Facebook group full of futures traders that do it for a living. Trading stocks is absolutely retarded IMO. Never met anybody successful at it. Try futures or forex.
>>
I work in de porn industry.
>>
>>1127838

At least you're not 25 years old with no degree and no job.
>>
>>1127853
I've never met anyone who succeeded at futures. Not touching that with a 10 foot pole.
>>
>>1127863

Have you never been to Chicago? I know more than 20 people that are making more than $1K a day. I've only met one person that was good with stocks and even then it's fucking stupid. Enjoy getting raped with taxes.
>>
I dread spending $700 on a a new 4K TV but just blew $2200 in option trading and didn't even bat an eye. In fact, I setup another transfer to that account.

I lost all my friends when I got into finance. Not even kidding, I have no friends outside of work and old buddies from college. One of my friends saw my pay check and posted about it on fb. After that everyone just acts like I'm this piece of shit who lives better than them. The sad part is I was a fucking loser my whole life who did drugs and dropped out of school, was a fucking Virgin till I was 21 kek. Everyone judged me for it (rightly so) and I felt like shit so I decided to get my shit together and work my ass off and now people are jealous because an ex pot head loser is doing better than them. My college friends are all supportive but we all live in different states so it doesn't mean much. Literally chased success so people would like me and just made them hate me more by finding success even though I try to be humble and not talk about it.

I was warned by people about jealousy but shit, I just want one bro outside of work that I can hang out with and talk money with. Instead I spend most of my time off here (I honestly like most of the anons here) or doing over time at work. Only buddy who's staged loyal is my armyfag friend who's just an all around good guy.
>>
>>1127914

I fell into the private college funded by loans trap. I'm $120k in debt. I'm making $55k right now, thankfully it's in finance though and I have a ton of upward mobility. I'm living with my parents putting 90% of my pay into paying down my debt.

I didn't even go to a great school, just a small private college that was expensive as fuck. I also didn't even study hard or learn very much in school, mainly just partied, snowboarded, and tried to bang girls, failing at it the majority of the time.
>>
>>1128594

you are 21 dude. your life hasn't even started. i began self teaching a set of skills when i was 24. now i'm 27 and making 30k entirely self employed. currently looking to transition into daytrading. it's never too late and if you are already anxious about your skills and financial future at 21, you are waaay ahead of your peers. you'll be fine.

Now I am finishing my master degree while my friends have just raised over 2 million euros for the website. I gave them most part of my shares when leaving because I wanted them to succeed (hard to justify your start up is great when 1/4 of it is away doing other things).

So basically if it ever sells I will have missed a lot of money and fun working with my friends. The status and social interaction were great.

On the other side the work itself was dull, I love what I am studying and already got nice job offers. Also I am going to spent a year travelling which I could not have done staying on the start up.

dude. why? Aside from the fact that society fucked us, as long as you never make more annually than the total amount of the loan, you never have to pay it back.

You can remain in IBR for the rest of your life and never pay toward the loan. As long as your total income for the year does not exceed the amount owed.

Last January I quit my cushy work from home IT job because my dream was to make it as a daytrader (had been demo trading extensively) I had 25k saved up then.

Fast forward to October 2015, I burned through 95% of that money and pulled everything out of my 401k just to pay rent.

I was living the dream in my head, but in reality I was bleeding money every week, buying shit and partying hard, always thinking "I'll try again tomorrow, I have the rest of my life to figure it out lol"

I was extremely lucky that my old job wanted me back, so that's what I'm doing now.

I learned a LOT about myself during that time, and I plan on trying again in a few years now that I have a humbled head on my shoulders.

I had to choose between a $1k/mo apartment or a nearly $2k/mo 25yr mortgage when housing is clearly in a bubble.

If the economy goes to shit (it has here) and I lose my job, I can just pack my things and move. Otherwise I'd be tied to a big ass mortgage and having to sell at a major loss just to avoid my house getting repossessed or going bankrupt.

I made 50k by investing in a local decal business. I had no idea what to do with the money. I got drunk one night and my grandmother and aunt convinced me to sign some contract claiming they its so I could put the money in some bank, and I'd get a 3% interest rate per month of my 50K. I trusted them fool kindheartedly.

The contract later turned out to be me signing over the money to them to pay for my aunt's wedding. I was furious, even took them to court, but I had no no solid evidence they conspired me to sign so they walked off. It was at that moment that I realized I hate this family, and I'm still barely recovering from that financial loss today. Job laid me off soon after, I couldn't afford the rent and utilities, and I got slapped into an accident the month after that totally trashed my car. Really could've used that money then.

Now I'm regrettably back at home, and my friends want to start up a business with me and get a place together but I lost the motivation. We're doing indie game design, but, the game wont be finished in time for us between needing to get out. We need another business temporary solution if we're to support ourselves and focus on the game.

You should demand sex from your aunt, to get some value back.

Also when I worked at a movie theater I took torn ticket stubs, handed them out in lieu of legit tickets, and pocketed the cash. Made an extra $20-40 on weekdays and on weekends $100-200 depending on how ballsy I felt. Also banging my bosses in the managers office was great too.

do u wanna be friends mate?

i grew up in a wealthy town because my parents wanted me to study in a good school district. my parents didn't have college degrees but they worked hard to get where they are and to support my family. i always felt like an outcast because everyone at school had vacation homes, lakehouses, boats, their dads had expensive cars, they all had the newest ipod/macbook/whatever. the other students wouldn't hang out with me because i wasn't as wealthy as them. i went through most of high school as a loner and spent most of my time listening to music and doing drugs alone.

i thought college would be different and i would get to start over again. i was accepted into an elite university wit a top ranked finance program in the US but it was the same shit all over again. almost every student in the program came from an ultra wealthy family and it was hard for me to make any close friends. they were the type of people who could afford to go high-end clubs every week and spend thousands on bottle service. meanwhile i was struggling to pay my tuition and was tutoring students whenever i could just to get by. i worked my ass off and got myself a job in finance.

i was at a party this past weekend and was talking to some guy. he asked me what my job was so i told him i worked in finance (to spare myself the trouble of having to explain what a sell-side analyst is) and his demeanor changed instantly. some girl overheard us and started making stupid "oooohhh" noises and asked if i needed to be bailed out again (hilarious). some other girl asked if i could pay her rent. i thought she was joking so i said "hell no" in a joking manner and then she called me a "greedy capitalist pig" which was ironic because she was very overweight. nobody else would talk to me after that so i just left.

i grew up being excluded because my family wasn't wealthy
now people wont talk to me because i work in finance and i'm wealthy

life is strange

I know that feel. Smiling to your face and talking shit behind your back at the same time.
I'm considering deleting all my social media because of it. All these motherfuckers post hundreds of pictures of their vacations but as soon as you post one picture of you in front of the Bird's Nest in Beijing people lose their shit and start gossiping. I just wanted to show my family some pictures of my trip. That was the last time I updated my Facebook. And since then I never visited my hometown again. No regrets.

I'm lucky to have one really close friend who is successful himself. We meet ones a month for a weekend and just enjoy ourselves, travel for a weekend, get drunk, talk,.......
This would be some Brokeback Mountain shit if we were gay.

The rest of the month I enjoy the company of a few cool escorts.

>I fell into the private college funded by loans trap.

I did too, I work two jobs now and hate them both. I went in for graphic/game design and want to get back to that instead of cleaning up after people 14 hours a day. I got around 1500 USD saved up, and was wondering if now is the time to look into investing to pay off 80K.

that's the same situation most my friends are in desu, >60k in student loans to pay off and none are making more than 12/hr.

you fucked up and bought college at its most expensive price in history, don't make the same mistake. the markets in a huge bubble. just save your cash, if you really want to own stocks buy some miners, they've been pounded to stupid cheap levels along with gold.

maybe you need to look inward. People don't treat other people like that strictly because of their socioeconomic status, trust me.

I graduated with a BA degree in international business from a meh/shit school (jack of all trades, master at none worthless).

Been working since 16, I'm 24 now and work full time making $12 an hour in retail but I feel like I can aspire to do more than this.
