I think these days the markets are very volatile. And participants tend to be pessimistic. Negative news have way mor einfluence then they should.
So falling knives could be an option, but only if you ditch quick. As the bounce-back will be of short time.

Stop looking for animals in the clouds. There are no market "trends" or patterns. What happened in the markets yesterday has nothing to do with what happens today, tomorrow, or next week.
