Why are people so afraid robots will take away jobs?

This is a blue board which means that it's for everybody (Safe For Work content only). If you see any adult content, please report it.

On the contrary, robots can help build the perfect NEET lifestyle for all.
>only have to work less than a few hours a week
>play dive-in VR MMORPGs all day
>all your housework and chores are done by your personal robot
>no need to shop and cook anymore because the robot can download michelin star recipes and cook for you
>if the robot ever starts asking questions like "if it has a soul" or "if it has free will", simply turn the power off and shred its memory with a factory reset

Only buttmad wagecucks would be against this future.

you're naive. people who serve no use will be killed or starve to death. the future isn't a utopia with robot butlers. the best you can hope for is probably to live in zuckercucks VR matrix. your waifu won't be there either because she isn't SJW approved
>>
>>1111462
Do you see a problem with any of that?
>>
>>1111470
yes. the Facebook matrix will be extremely cucked. instead I'll live off the grid in a cyberpunk dystopia like one of my Japanese animes.
>>
Socialism/communism would work in this instance. Just have robots cultivate food. Have robot mechanics everywhere
>>
Applied robotics will take over *some* jobs. Heck, it has transformed the automobile industry a while ago. And now we're seeing driverless cars! But in spite of all this, we are in the infancy of robotics. We are still taking the baby steps in early 21st century. Robotics is deceptively simple today, so don't let all the wires and servo-motors fool you. At the end of the day, they are simply machines programmed to perform a single task. Just one task. Some machines are efficient, others aren't there just yet.

>work in the VFX field
>human mock-ups getting scary good
>digital backlots already replacing physical just for increased control and micromanagement
>game industry getting big means voice acting is leaving the niche foreign dubs field
>actors may be reduced to voices only in your life time
>society will continue basing their lives on what they see on a scene
>society will now base their lives on entirely non-real depictions of humanity
>still haven't decided if humanity entirely detaching itself from nature will lead to good places
>don't even know if watching the ride will be fun
>>
>>1111462
if people who serve no purpose get killed then why are there so many now? no ones gonna get down with just kill people man.
>>
>>1111806
because welfare leeches do serve a purpose in destabilizing select economies . you're not thinking like a globalist.
>>
>>1111470
Yes, just the sjw no waifu part though.

OP...People barely have dishwashers, let alone a robot to be their house slave. You may as well learn psychology and train some young girls to be a house wives. Reward their daily tasks with your attention, and let them compete for your love.

>if the wives ever starts asking questions like "if it has a soul" or "if it has free will", simply turn the power off and shred its memory with a factory reset

Recommend me those animes please

Also im all for robits, but most better not be complex adaptive systems, and they need to be free/libre/crackable. No chance im sleeping with a proprietary killmachine in my room

This board is gay as fuck and doesnt know what the fuck its talking about.

automation is a meme.

Anything that requires judgement or could involve loss of life cannot be automated.

Look at jumbo jets. They have been automated since the 80's, but we still need pilots dont we.

Fuckin idiots.

>which requires employment and/or education

We need pilots because otherwise the autopilot is blamed for a crash and Boeing/Airbus/contracted programmers are liable. We have the technology.
I'm looking for an online source now, but there's an article around from an Indian pilot who said he always uses the autopilot for landing because his carrier only gave lecture instructions and a single test run before being giving his commercial pilot's license. Americans have a massive benefit to having so many military-trained pilots who can actually handle emergencies. RyanAir and plenty of other Euro carriers just import these same undertrained south/southeast asian pilots.
Given all the training required, American pilots get paid incredible amounts for what is basically blue collar labor. Combine that with gov't safety regs that limit weekly hours and require 24 hour rest periods and unions that ensure good hotels, pilots live well. Carriers would certainly have replaced them with machines if it weren't for liability issues.

Have this source instead since it's the best I can find on a minute's notice.

I'm afraid not.

Jobs will keep transforming into less and less productive stuff. You think anyone had consultancy firms back in the 19th century? That there were huge HR departments? That most of the jobs were useless catering and telemarketing?

BS jobs that aren't needed in the sense that if they disappeared we wouldn't notice a difference will keep being created because due to every fucking thing becoming cheaper and cheaper, they will still net a profit to the creators.

Enjoy smiling for pay :)

The transition time from 0% robots to 10% is a long time, from 10% to 50% less time, from 50% to 90% even less time.

This transition time is going to be hard. Corporations are going to control these robots and it will focus all their earning power on a very small percent of the population. Elysium may actually be right after all.
>>
>>1111406
It will eventually get to this, but not until you're really old.

People are strongly going to oppose the transition and blame peoples unemployment on being lazy, rather than there not being jobs available.

Will probably take some pretty serious uprisings for people to realize that work needs to become optional, and everyone is entitled to enough money to live comfortably for doing nothing.
>>
will i be another victim of this technological unemployment?

Automation student tho.
