I'm familiar somewhat with the business world and am playing around in simulators with mixed results. I downloaded robinhood recently and as far as I understand there isn't a method to short sell through it right?
I'm from Canada so I don't know but I would assume not since shorting requires a broker
if you're new to this you don't need to short sell anything, stick to value investing

Oh I was just wondering since I know penny stocks are more volatile. Seems like it'd make the market too chaotic. At what point could I option short selling do you think?

You need margin to short sell. That means you have borrow the stock from someone to sell it.
I dont know much about robinhood but i do know its for poor people, AKA cheap, and short selling costs more than basic investing. So im 99 percent sure it doesnt have it.
> pick random stock around $5 a share
> see one around 5.10
> ehh let me wait a week to see what happens
> closed on friday near 6 bucks
I wish I was more of a gambler and just dive in

Just do it with a small amount of disposable money, set a limit on when to pull out, and commit. This will lighten any regrets (imagine selling bitcoin when it was $5) to avoid suicide watch. Unless you really believe in the company/product, try to cut at <10% loss.
