I was offered a job that pays $62,000. I do not have a 4 year degree, but I was working towards it. This job is for a huge company. Would you take it? Is it worth it? I do have a AA. I think that it would make sense for me to take it, but I'm not sure.
>>
Why would you not take it?
>>
>>1091784
Fucking take it. Build you resume and bankroll.
>>
>>1091784
what kind of retarded question is this
>>
>>1091786
>>1091843
>>1091844

Wow, you guys are dumb

>>1091784

OP, is your degree in the same field as the job? If they are recruiting people right out of college, dont you think there is a labor shortage in that field? Dont you think its in your interest to complete your education in that field, and then negotiate for a better salary when you have the leverage of your degree?

Dont forget, everyone on /biz/ is retarded. $62,000 annual isnt that much money. Especially not as a salary from a "huge company"
>>
>>1091865
62k is fine if you're young, especially if you're smart enough to save most of the money

>>1091784
take job, continue degree at nights or something
>>
>>1091865
>Dont forget, everyone on /biz/ is retarded. $62,000 annual isnt that much money. Especially not as a salary from a "huge company"

>Does not have a degree
>Has seemingly no previous job near that salary
>Lol $60k/yr is nothing don't take it!

Why do trolls like you exist?

>everyone on /biz/ is retarded. $62,000 annual isnt that much money.

The opposite is actually true. everyone here claims to be an internet marketer making $200k/yr, or at the very least being a wageslave with $80k/yr starting.
>>
>>1091865
no you're fucking dumb, its a retarded question because its completely malformed and has no information that lets any kind of answer be given
>>
>>1091784
I got a job offer as a intermediate level PHP programmer for 80k. I don't know anything about PHP but I can sell myself extremely well as I go on /g/ a lot. Should I take the job?
>>
>>1091784

Can you do the degree while doing the job?

Your degree+ experience will help you have more negotiating power later.
>>
>>1092007

I mean, that's the biggest thing. Getting your degree is very important, because even if it doesn't mean anything, it makes you desirable.

If they're willing to hire people without experience for $62K, (which can buy you a cheap house after your debts are settled (and it will pay for your degree in the mean time)) you should exploit that
>>
Not OP. I 'made' $63k last year. After taxes and health insurance, my paychecks are $1,500.

Been there 2 years. No raises, no growth potential. I have 2 weeks until my yearly bonus ($3k), then I walk out.

I'm a digital marketer and have been applying to other jobs for a year now without any success. I'm planning on doing an apprenticeship in farming or construction instead. The stress, strain, and dissatisfaction isn't worth the money.
>>
>>1092087
You pay 70% income tax? I find that hard to believe.
>>
>>1092102
Gross = $63,000
Net = $36,000 ($1500 bi-monthly)

That is 43% that goes to taxes, insurance, and I forgot to mention the killer 6% I contribute to a Roth.
>>
>>1091865
You are a fucking faggot. The purpose of an education is to get a job. It's for a huge company which would offer opportunity and training. The education can be finished on the side. Why the fuck not make money whilst gaining experience and an education. Fucking fight me neckbeard.
>>
>>1092212
That kind of thinking is inline with those that talk about buying stuff on credit after winning the lottery to keep a good credit rating.
>>
>>1092004
Yes. Learn quick and on the go.
>>
>>1091784
How far into your degree are you? If it's one year, at least round out an associate's. If you're three years in, finish at night, but get the job.

After you've been at a job for two years, you can just say you have a degree in your résumé. Or don't. People will just assume you do.

>2011-2013 Faggot U
>2013-Present Head Knob Gobbler at XYZ Inc.

I'm a dropout, make over $100,000, and my résumé would look similar to the one above, but I have a ton of accolades and performance metrics from work that make me far more desirable than some cherry grad. And because I know the neckbeard spergs will chime in, no I wouldn't try to get a programming or surgeon position. STEM and professional careers aren't conducive to this approach.
>>
>>1092787
This is good advice
>>
>>1091784
Stick to rapping drake
>>
>>1092787
but mate, I'm a dropout as well and I work as a consultant software engineer making ~130k/yr.(Before taxes which is -35%)

I had a dev job before I landed this though, so I had a minor amount of experience, but I aced the interview and knew what I was doing.
>>
>>1092087
Farming is stress then the crops don't grow or you need 250k for the combine. I think gay porn star is more your thing.
>>
>>1092004

Where do you live, and how did you manage this?
