How does /biz/ think of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand?
I'm a card-carrying libertarian and I've never made it past the first 3 chapters
I read a good part of it, but got sick of reading all books and stopped. However I remember the Rearden metal, the great sex stuff, and that I couldn't place what year the damn thing was set in.

>carrying a card to show you abide by a certain political ideology
Why would you do this to yourself, familia?

I loved it at first but as I grew up the book became terrible. Its literally the anti-socialism ramblings of a cocaine addictict.

Well I finished it and you didn't miss much except some 30 page rant by John Galt aka Rand. Would not read again, fact of the matter is people do things when you put a gun to their heads, doesn't matter what happens in Rands Utopian fantasy world.

The sex is hot.
If any of you fuckers ever made anything in your life. And then had to listen to someone who couldn't change their own oil if their life depended on it tell you what's wrong with it, maybe the book would have meant something to you.
This is coming from someone that's designed products sitting on major retailers shelves right now.

It's a good book, especially in the way it exposes the true motives and methods of the leftests of the world. It is especially useful if you read The Fountainhead first.
A lot of the book is pretty bad. Her views on sex are questionable to say the least. And the ending looks like it was thrown together at the last minute.
But if you look past the bad, you're still left with a very good book in many ways.

Im a self proclaimed objectivist, I say i like it. She was the first to say rational self-interest (capitalism) was actually morally good. Ever altruistic system always ends in failure, yet its always deemed good hence mother teresa and jesus christ.... Two hacks that actually promote evil moral codes
Sure is Reddit in here
