Is an MBA worth it?

I'm currently making $35k/year with a Bachelor's degree. I did very well - I graduated with distinction and a high 3.7GPA. The main reason my salary is so low is because I live in a rural area and didn't want to move to the city.

I'm considering getting an MBA. My sister-in-law actually works at Purdue University's admissions office and she says I would be a shoe in with my background.

Is it worth it getting an MBA in my situation? If I got one I would be wiling to relocate.

You are being severely underpaid right now, 35k for a job out of college is well below average. There are many factors that go into deciding if an MBA is worth it (will the company pay, are you going to stay in your field, online or full time, etc).

if your job only pays you 35 k a year in america then you're probably not in the kind of job that would ever get onto the kind of job post-MBA that would make the MBA worth it.
