Hey /biz/. How do I not get robbed paying over $600 for car insurance every month?I'm a 19 year old community college student and I currently hold 2 points on my license (blew a red light in NJ) but I plan on taking that Safe Driving course shit and apparently it would make them go away. The other thing is, convincing somebody to put me under their policy is not a choice simply because nobody wants to take that risk upon themselves. Parents is a no also (family issues). What do I do ? Should I invest in kneepads even more every month? Pic related

Forgot to mention, I don't want a 20 year old car just to pay a tiny bit less. it's simply not worth the amounts i'd have to be putting into it. what do

You're a poor college student. sell your car. ride a bike and take the bus.

I know that but not having a car is like having one leg - you'll get by but it's gonna be very difficult.
I'm not classified as poor, I'm just not classified as somebody who was $600 spare change to throw out on a car without any problem

Not having a car builds character. And later in life when you're successful and you have more money you'll be able to reflect back on this point. Plus with modern technology (mass transit apps, uber) being carless is as easy as it's ever been!

>help guys I fucked up because I'm an idiot and now I don't know how to handle the repercussions
>"Here, completely bypass the issue by doing this."
>I don't want to do that
You're a fucking retard OP. You fucked up like a moron and you now have a price to pay. Either work to fix it (which means riding the bus or getting a bike you fat sack of shit) or get fucked.

>over $600 for car insurance every month?
lmao
How are you paying $600/mo.? That's $7200/year. Unless you've got a DUI you aren't mentioning, I dont believe it.
Also call GEICO.
Take your driving course.
Switch companies.
Get minimal coverage
Select large deductible
Pay annually
Thank you kindly anons!

Here's a sneaky trio:
> Buy an older car
> Make it BLUE or GREY
> Nothing sporty
Young males have higher insurance. Sporty cars, newer cars, and cars that are black or red have higher insurance, too. Also cops watch those more closely. You want a mid 90's sedan in blue or grey. NO COUPES.
My mid 90's blue sedan costs $200 every six months to insure. I have only been driving for five years. The tax is under $50. It's worth it.
Tip: Buy a car over 25 years old. File it as a "historical vehicle".
I've been driving for less than a year and pay under a $100 month. (It's a red Porsche too)

THIS.
If it has 2 doors, its a coupe, which is considered "sporty". Get some old 4 door civic and beat the piss out of it
TL;DR
BUY A CIVIC AND
SHUT
THE
FUCK
UP

Just don't get insurance. What are you a pussy?
OP has to be from a no-fault state.
That is insane.
Buy a bike.
