Are you buying twitter stocks once they hit the bottom?

Lel.

>Whisper, Dating App, and Tumblr are about to pass it

Even more lel. If literally who's, a website exclusively for business relations, and Google+ are passing you then you know you're screwed.
>>
Internet stocks don't have bottoms until they hit $0. They are horrible investments. Might as well be one of the retards still holding shares in MySpace and AOL
>>
mark my words: friendster is up for a huge comeback.

and bebo
>>
I would say probably not.
I haven't read your article yet, but I would urge everyone to stay away from tech stocks, I think we're in a pretty huge bubble right now and were pushing on its edge.
I read a CBInsight article in October that I'll link to at the end, but basically, 10 months in to 2015 there had been 60 new tech companies valued at over 1 billion dollars. A lot of them are really useful and interesting tools, but they just don't have any way to monetize their products in a way that makes them nearly that valuable, in my opinion at least.

Like for instance, Evernote, which is a really nice note taking format, but I don't think that many people will actually be willing to pay for the features it offers, and Its simply not that useful outside of academia

boom and bust. it's what is common of the social network shit. hell, just wait, facebook is a bust too.

somebody creates something that is 100 cooler and completely out of this world. aaaaand facebook, twitter etc. are all gone that moment.
>>
>>1037407
Yeah, and beyond that I know that some larger companies are prototyping Trello knock-offs that a lot of people will want to go with because of the name and support behind the product
>>
>>1037403
I google'd that and found this quote which I found funny.

>"It has even led to the term "Zucked" being coined to describe what happened to the investors who lost money."
>>
This reminds me of the first week /biz/ was created and every nigger and his brother was saying to buy Facebook, Twitter, alibaba, Tesla, and Chipotle.

I hope all you shills are enjoying your poverty
>>
I want a censorship proof twitter, facebook, instagram etc.

Whatever happened to freedom of speech?
>>
I was wondering about this and it is why I just came here.

More people are switching over to Twitter and the numbers show a massive decline in facebook and a large increase in Twitter use in highschools.

So...why is Twitter stock still falling and facebooks is still rising?
>>
>>1037559

They already tried that

Pronoun neutral groups were getting triggered

The irony is that there is no money in catering to SJWs

and source for this.

Their revenue is based solely on advertising, whereas Facebook makes money on advertising, technology subsidiaries, and data mining

There are also very few people actually using it vs the number of bot

Lots of people follow celebrities, but no one gives a shit about your average small town slut's twitter
>>
>>1037559
That's what YikYak was until some douche decided to go Big Brother on the entire app

As anon >>1037567 said, special snowflakes got triggered, but he doesn't mention that muh degeneracy idiots had no tact and thought if they can, they should because when you're fighting a culture war measured steps and tact are for pussies.

Twitter doesn't make money.
>>
>>1037621
institute $0.01/tweet charge. $20/year = 5-6 tweets per day avg, generate $5+mil revenue/day.
>>
>>1037743
>institute $0.01/tweet charge
>everyone leaves
>>
>>1037745
>cleans up a lot of trash/useless tweets, improves content
you really think $0.01 would have a dramatic chilling effect? And even if it did - Twitter isn't making money anyway so what's the problem?
>>
>>1037745

Thats what people said about paid Youtube videos... Google is doing pretty fucking well on the premium membership conversion.
>>
>>1037423

>When you upload it, it's there forever kids!!!!!!

Digital media and storage lasts less than paper does. There are CDs of archival material from 10 years ago that can't be accessed without a massive timesink because of obsolete software.
>>
This is what happens when niggers take over your social media platform.... Everyone leaves
>>
>stocks hitting bottom

Implying you know when the bottom is (other than chapter 11)

you dont buy dead businesses

if Myspace got a stock tommorow would you mortgage your house to buy its stock?
>>
>>1037794

In my country only Polynesians and wannabe gay pornstars/voyeurs use it.
>>
>>1037568

Why isnt 4chan on there?
>>
>>1037799

Depends.

Myspace Music is a hell of a lot more attractive than Tidal ever was, even in its initial pitch

>TFW you realize Myspace still has more user profiles than Twitch

>TFW you realize the dumb things you were doing 10 years ago are still there for everyone to see
>>
>>1037803

Because 4chan has around 1/50th the user base of Reddit.

They couldn't fit that many decimals in a category, which is why they have "other"
>>
>>1037767

Mate, have you seen the under 25 Twitter user? You'll be scrolling down their page for 5 minutes before you find something posted older than 7 hours old. People have fucking conversations on it and spam their shitty ideas. The way most people tweet, their Twitter will cost more than their phone bill. You're an idiot.

If anything they could make a $1 a year charge. A laughable amount to an individual but a big amount for a company, charge more for verified accounts too.
>>
>>1037813
Oh yea i didnt realize that reddit is #9 in the US and 4chan is 447th.
>>
>>1037807
>TFW you realize the dumb things you were doing 10 years ago are still there for everyone to see
im glad you brought this up

they are dead profiles, 99% of them probably havent been used in years, its like Blizzard with World of Warcraft

>Blizzard: we have over 14 MILLION players!
>Customers: then why do you keep making less money every year and the servers are dead? are you counting dead accounts?
>Blizzard: CONFERENCE IS OVER! BUY THE NEXT EXPAC THOUGH, WE NEED MONEY BAD!
>>
>>1037831

>you now realize there are companies that will pay good money for those account details, no matter how old.

Im in Pharmacy. Walgreens in the US is the evil stepmother. Walgreens will pay any pharmacy 23 dollars per customer, for every detail you have, no matter how old.

Its why there is almost no one left except Caremark (CVS) Walgreens, and Thrifty White. a small town store, 1 location, making MAYBE 2k a month profit, can sell their customer database dating back almost 30 years, and make enough money for that owner to never work again.

Even if someone were to pay $5 per profile (which is stupidly low) Myspace could make 500 million dollars tomorrow, for nothing more than sending their user DB file in an email.
>>
>>1037807
Tom pls leav3
>>
>>1037790
>muh cloud
>with muh backup
>with muh backup of a backup
all of which can be easily migrated to whatever the latest technology is. You realize entire billion dollar companies do that shit for a living, right? It's not some neckbeard in a basement writing to dvd's (ok sometimes it is)
>>
Twitter should make premium subscriptions for a small annual fee that raises your message character limit and maybe some other little bullshit features
>>
>>1037846

Very few companies are going to transfer data older than 10 years old. Even ones like Twitter and Facebook won't exist in 15 years max. Google will be gone or a totally different business in 25 years. Any data that isn't used by a consumer (i.e. photos) goes very quickly; anything else will die a natural death faster than your mum's porno videos from the 80s.

You can't access Bebo profiles anymore. And I try.
>>
>>1037855

>you now realize the 80s, and all their coke fueled goodness were 35 years ago, and those porn videos, shot in a motel room, have now been sold and are marketed as "vintage porn"

>TFW you randomly find a video of your mom in a gangbang wearing giant glasses, catching loads on her shoulder pads
>>
>>1037855
don't you realize what the value of Google and FB actually is? it's the data! They will never, ever get rid of that data. Their business may change but they'll run new algorithms against your old data forever.

We're not far away from machine learning that data will be invaluable.
>>
>>1037859

Come on, this Big Data thing is a meme. I get it, it's scary, but even these elite companies don't have the time or money to bother keeping the data on the futa you searched for in 2004. Google used to have a policy of anonymising data (all data) after something like 180 days and deleting it/moving it onto hardware offline) after 2 years. Dunno if they still do, but it's definitely not all in the Cloud. It's on some oil rig somewhere, slowly becoming unreadable.

Even the NSA don't keep data from their hotlist suspects for longer than 5 years. Even they don't care.
>>
>>1037559
Diaspora

Twister

Freedom of speech takes a backseat to ease of use and existing communities.
>>
>>1037855
>Google will be gone or a totally different business in 25 years.

They're already moving on to greener pastures, with their research and hardware divisions, hell look at IBM, got out of the consumer products market to focus more on R&D and they're doing great.
>>
>>1037829
Lets keep it that way.
